Don't even think about it! I like my hair, thank you very much. My Granddad kept all his hair until he passed away in is 80's and I hope to keep all mine at least that long.

Got that, Baldy? :)

I believe baldness is passed on from your mother's side. But, a guy I worked with waaay back when was going bald at an early age. No history in his family. He finally went to a doc to see what was going on.

He was in high school in the late sixties when long hair was first in but not allowed in many schools. He wanted to be hip so he wore a wig over his freak flag. The doc told him he had overheated his head over an extended period of time which meant an early death to his hair follicles.

The moral of this story? Don't wear hats inside. :D:

That's what I've heard. The Granddad I mentioned was my Dad's Dad. I don't know about my Mom's side of the family in regards to baldness. My Granddad on that side passed away before I was born and the only other male blood relative on that side is my Uncle, who I believe has all his hair but then again he is still fairly young.

At my advanced age I've still got most of my freak flag left. I just don't get the shaved head look. Plus, the Turtle Wax bill must be horrendous.

I shave my head bald, but can also grow a full head of hair. Various reasons why, but I think the biggest is I have no desire to deal with hair and the upkeep. I can shave it once a week, no need for waxing :D:

So does that mean my sons will have hair like my father... or my maternal grandfather?

It doesn't really matter. Both my grandfathers passed in their 80's with full heads of hair. My Father had most of his and I have a part down the middle about 7 inches wide. No family line that would have predicted that at all.

Just casual observation but I have discovered that the large percentage of people that I have personally known that wear hats constantly, inside and out, have a lot of hair. I hate them. I have never worn hats. I hate them (hats this time), yet, I have no hair. People that have a lot of hair and cover it up with "baseball" caps should be taken out and shot. No...I am not bitter.

Alright, my bitter brother.

I have that problem that, atop my head, were I to let it grow out, it would just be a mess.

I did one time shave it down to the skin. Never again. That rubbery feel up there was just wrong, and I hated the way water ran off it.
