I never met her,but thought she was a very Brave Lady. I sent her some items from the Komen Breast Cancer Walk we do ,and it made me happy that she seemed to enjoy them.I feel utterly helpless and ineffective, though.Life is very unfair and she was someone who stood up and fought the very worst of battles without complaining. She was someone who deserves our admiration. I wish someone would post a picture of her so we can always remember.
I too fought a similar battle and we've met, DisneyMom... I wish NotATourist had survived too, and had been able to come to DLR and then there would have been a celebration of us all meeting and celebrating the end of her cancer and mine... but instead all we can do, is remember that she fought until her body couldn't fight any more.. but we will never forget how she lived... Though the chemo made her weak her spirit still burned as bright as the sun... and though she is no longer with us, we will see her where the stars and sun always shine and there will be no clouds to bar the sight. PM Me the next time you're coming to the park and I'll give you a big bear hug, for NotATourist's spirit and me. :)

One of my friend's who I grew up together is a 1st grade teacher. One day she felt a weird lump in her armpit. She had a mamo done and found out it was a tumor. The tumor base was found in her right breast. She went through chemo foe a year and a half. She missed 4 days of work. She is now completely cancer free. Remember October is breast cancer awareness month. Men can get breast cancer too. If you feel a lump, call your doctor quickly and get help. :)

Here is a picture of her doing what she loved, being a pilot for the macys day parade, i love that she has had such an impact on everyone. As a matter of fact the band styx posted a tribute to her on their twitter page. Purpura the next time i am up there i would love to look you and anyone else who works at disneyland up, Im currently working at legoland just south of ya temporarily. Thats what makes this so hard is that i wasn't able to be there for her while she went through this process. Thank you again to everyone for your kind words.

I am so sorry! I just read this - I had been gone since last weekend doing, of all things, our Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I'll have one more on our team's list for next year, for sure.
Somehow, someway, we gotta get this thing licked! So many of our wonderful, sparkly warrior ladies - we won't stop till they find a cure!
Chris' friends, sending your prayers for strength and peace right now. I'm so glad you have such wonderful memories!

One of my worst fears has been realized--we've lost a member. I know we've lost others, but like everyone said, NotATourist was brave, fearless, and one tough lady. I remember when she announced she her diagnosis--"Kids, I've got cancer." I was so hoping she would make it. As my grandmother said when my grandpa died, she's not sick anymore.

I've been away from SGT for awhile and just read this. I am so sorry to hear this news. She was always so positive in her posts. My condolences to her friends and family.

Oh no, this is awful. I can't even imagine what her family and friends are feeling right now. I've just been in remission for a few months now...I hate cancer. I hope and pray for a cure. May she rest in peace. :(

I miss Chris so much. We hope to have a memorial for her towards the end of the month at Universal. Will keep everyone posted.
