Yeah that was something the L.A. Times article didn't mention. I hate her attitude about being placed in the back. She feels it's beneath her.
She's lucky to have a job in a lousy economy. There are plenty of people who would gladly take her place.

Main Street is training a new hire today who claims she must wear a head scarf, or whatever they are called due to her cultural & religious beliefs. The entire group of trainers are extremely worried abt the situation they are up against. The gal was hired in & Stock trained but because of her headscarf she will be BOH & I mean BOH only. This will be very difficult on her stock team as they will have to do her running & FOH jobs. She simply will not be able to complete a stock team if she is only BOH. Very confusing & frustrating.
BOH was even given a new name (can't remember it) so all would be P C. I don't think this has hit the media. My first question was "Why Main Street?" C C, N. O. or TT seems a more logical placement. But what would I know?

Now you see where demanding to wear religious garb at work can take you.
Those witches hats are too tall to be worn for most day to day operations. It's hard to go through doorways with them, they catch on things..just messy.... :D: And they're a pain to clean to boot....just not practical for day to day wearing.
Then there's that whole broom thing...I mean...there is no broom parking ANYWHERE!

You're absolutely right: the black, pointy hats always get in the way! LOL As for broom parking....motorcycle parking works just perfectly! :D:
But seriously, I am an advocate for my religion mainly because it is misunderstood (not so much today as it was 20 years ago). I used to have a website, I still speak frequently when invited and I participate in Pagan Pride Day when I can (now, with a son who plays football, it's almost impossible). Because of my profession, I choose not to wear my crystal pentacle necklace or show off my tattoos. Additionally, you will not find one thing in my office that indicates my religion. IMHO, it's not right to (1) shove your religion in someone's face or (2) basically influence your employer's reputation by "marketing" your religion (could you imagine if I went to court or met clients wearing my necklace???).
Again, everyone has a right to do what they feel is necessary. However, a person is going to have to understand that they may be put backstage or even dismissed for going against an employer's code of conduct. One company I worked for even had a "religion is not a permitted topic of discussion in the office" line in the employee handbook.
