She then had a milk fit too when I didn't have milk for her tea.

While I think the SG was bonkers, I can understand this part. I've never understood the tendancy in this country to put cream or creamer in Coffee and Tea. It makes it taste odd, and the cream makes my mouth feel all weird afterwards.
Then there are the looks I get when I go to Denny's or somewhere like that and ask for milk instead of cream. You would think from the looks the servers get that I had three heads or something.

Even at Tim Hortons up here, a double double with milk gets double takes from the counter staff! Although that is mainly at the "urban" locations, not those in rural areas, whose staff are mostly grandmotherly types.

Oh trust me, I know. Cream + tea = crap.

What's the story on the McNuggets lady?
"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Here's my take on it....
Tea has a great flavor, in my opinion. I would never try to cover that up by adding anything to it. I hate flavored tea and, quite frankly, do not understand the purpose. If I want something that tastes like raspberry or lemon I will get a raspberry drink or lemonade. I mean why bother with the tea?
Now Coffee...whatever it takes to cover that nasty, bitter taste is probably not enough. No sir, Coffee is a concept that just does not compute with me. My only venture off that path would be that I kind of like Coffee Ice Cream.
But, to each his own.

My sentiments exactly except I like to drink Peppermint tea, which doesn't have any tea leaves in it at all only mint leaves. I guess the "tea" part is more in reference to the process by which you extract the flavor from the mint leaves.

A well made cup of coffee, much like a well made cup of tea, is like heaven. The bitterness is usually because someone hasn't cleaned the pot properly, they are using inferior beans, or they are not cooking it properly. (Yes, making coffee is actually cooking, but I'll not get into that here.)
Alton Brown did a wonderful episode on
Good Eats about coffee that changed my attitude altogether. Sorry about the minor rant. :)
The opinions expressed here may not be those of kcberlin. Sometimes I just like to stir shit.

Love Alton Brown and Good Eats. His episode on tea-making got me buying a cast iron pot and some fresh, loose-leaf tea... Brewed properly, with just a touch of milk -- YUM. Nothing from a teabag will ever taste that good.
As for coffee, I never drank the stuff until Starbucks came along. I hardly ever buy at Starbucks any more -- I brew at home, grinding my own beans -- but it wasn't until I tasted the "good stuff" that I got to where I liked coffee. I still don't like it black, though. I drink it with cream, sweetener, and some cinnamon and cocoa powder mixed in. (I know, it hardly qualifies as coffee any more to purists, but I love it that way.)
