Star Tours Prepares for Reimagining at Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resorts
Re: Star Tours Prepares for Reimagining at Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resorts
Honestly all the REX AA's have been kinda wonky lately. I've had one with 0 neck movements. He'd just sit and not turn his head. The REX that's had one eye out has been like that for awhile. One of the other REX units had really, really, loud actuators, and bad audio. I'll miss that ride. I'll miss Pee-Wee's voice too.
RIP Bud Hurlbut.
You will be missed.

Hmm, how long is this expected to take? I'm guessing it won't be done by the time I'm down there next at the end of October, but it would be nice to see it.

That ride has had problems since it debuted! I *never* made it to Endor...

That's true. They all seem to have different performances at this point. The Rex in cabin #2 does this very weird thing where his neck will bob up and down rapidity during the flight.Freak wrote:Honestly all the REX AA's have been kinda wonky lately. I've heard that Star Tours at Disneyland is supposed to re-open in May 2011.Lasolimu wrote:Hmm, how long is this expected to take? I'm guessing it won't be done by the time I'm down there next at the end of October, but it would be nice to see it.

Believe me, it is over-rated. The hotels are primitive at best, and while at first the natives are cute, their habit of singing and dancing every night can get on one's nerves.... :cat1:ktulu wrote:That ride has had problems since it debuted! I *never* made it to Endor...

And if you're into cosplay, *DO NOT* dress up as a Stormtrooper near them. Things can get....ugly.

That's why I'm going!PatchOBlack wrote:Believe me, it is over-rated. The hotels are primitive at best, and while at first the natives are cute, their habit of singing and dancing every night can get on one's nerves.... :cat1:
Yeah, I've seen the notice on the break room wall on level 12. I did some of the server work on DS3, even contractors had to wear those uniforms. Hard to get under a raised floor and see what you're doing with one of those helmets on.Freak wrote:And if you're into cosplay, *DO NOT* dress up as a Stormtrooper near them. Things can get....ugly.
I have this sweet protocol droid that I did in gold/platinum. Figure with something that awesome I could get an upgrade. Didn't work at WDW...

You know, I have to agree.ktulu wrote:That ride has had problems since it debuted! I *never* made it to Endor...
I always felt cheated that when after we help destroy the Death Star Rex just takes us right back to where we started!

Um, trust me on this one, Freak's right!Freak wrote:And if you're into cosplay, *DO NOT* dress up as a Stormtrooper near them. Things can get....ugly.
(My Stormtrooper PA in Star Wars Galaxies once decided to raid the Ewok village on Endor ingame. We got wiped out, to the last man, in about five minutes.)

Me, too. You know, my husband did not believe me that Paul Rubens did Rex's voice or the voice of the spaceship in Flight of the Navigator. I guess I actually one-upped him on that!Freak wrote:I'll miss Pee-Wee's voice too.
And I have to say I always felt gipped that we never made it to Endor, as well. Return of the Jedi was always my favorite and I wanted to see the "real" Endor!
