HAHAHAHAHAH This is so FAKE. If they were really falling, then the girls hair would be flying up. People seem the be smiling a lot to be falling so fast. No tto mention that when the ride takes your photo your not falling. and if you were, the ride vehicle would be further down then shown.

Stop being so gullible.

Oh and @JENNIE. Your so full of it. 1) You can not slip out from under the seat belt. 2) If you could they watch you on the ride via camera, as soon as you started to slip out from under they would stop the ride. 3) Even if you managed to slip out and not be seen, the seat belt would have retracted and LOCKED into place making it impossible to slip back into the seat belt. Anymore lies you want to tell?

This has to be fake, the “car” wouldn’t leave the platform if his seatbelt wasn’t secured, and there’s 2 sets of cameras on board the elevator, when and if this would of happened the cast member might of hit the e-stop which would of brought the ride down slowly back to the platform….

Yes, and the blowout preventer is an absolutely safe way to avoid oil spill in case of an explosion on the rig.

If he did get "out" and during one of the falls head upwards, could he be hanging onto the ceiling? Isn't it a grate?

I know the CMs should have seen it on cam, but reality happens and they could have gotten distracted for a moment.

As said in this thread. there are many system in place to prevent this. So even if the CM's had not seen him. the ride would. so unless EVERY safety measure failed at the same time...

Definately a fake. I have been in the back rows and there is not much of an area befind the back seat. From the looks of the picture, it looks like a copy and paste job from a computer. The last time I went on the ToT, there were 2 CM's. 1 checked all guests to make sure that the seat belt was fastened. Smart CM, good check.

We were there last Sunday (5/16/10) and mom & I waited with the baby while hubby took our son to ride ToT before we went up for Fantasmic! Hubby comes off the ride looking mad as heck - he said that they had ridden fine but when they got off the operator (a young lady whom he said looked about college age) was very ticked off at one of three girls (high school grads he thought). She said to her "next time you ride this you keep your feet on the floor!" and the girl starts laughing about it. The operator then says "It's not funny, we had to shut down the entire ride because of you because we thought you had come out of your seat belt!" But then she let them go - the girl didn't even apologize.

He said the girl was sitting on the front row and had put her feet up on the rail just before the fall making the photo seem as though she was coming up out of her seat. Hubby said he was then mad because they couldn't get through the crowd of people who were stopped taking photos of the girl's picture on the screen. I don't understand how a) they didn't have security waiting for her (especially after she laughed at the operator) and b) why they put her picture up at all. I told him that there was a reason SGT is such a popular website!!

No it wouldn't. The system doesn't sense seat belts being pulled in or out. The people in the tower have four monitors to watch. Plus, your eyes aren't glued all the time unless some girl has a long skirt on.

It could be real. He doesn't have to be being thrown into the air. He could be holding onto the grated ceiling (I think it's a grate), and the woman could be trying to get him down.

That said, on further examination, the arm of the guy reaching up looks to have a red sleeve on it, not grey, like his right arm sleeve. Also, if you look at his left shoulder, under the woman in the 3rd row's arm, there is some oddness, as the shoulder/upper arm doesn't look to lead up into the raised left arm/hand. Also, others would be likely to have noticed what was going on and would have heads turned.
