I understand the need for such a place though knowing it's not going to happen here I'm grateful to the mods (and Cujo I have to say thank you for your post because I will admit- as someone who though they've not been posting here lately as much but has invested a bit of time and a lot of my heart into our little motley crew here, if I came and knew that there was a locked forum and the potential that others here could be talking about my posts without me knowing I'd think twice about opening my mouth (moving my fingers as the case may be)...)

I'm sorry to hear that some around here are making the CMs feel bad. That just shouldn't happen and it rots.

We should be here for you guys for all you give us all the time and all you give to the guests we don't even know about (and especially for all you give to the SGs who don't appreciate it).

I hope that knowing we at least hope to try helps a little.

one other thing worries me about the concept of such a forum- having moderated a bit myself in the past on varied forums I worry that it would only take one person slipping in under the radar and then using what they learn on a forum where a poster might be less on their guard thinking they're only among current CMs to get them in hot water on the job.

At least here knowing you're among listening ears might make people keep up their guard a little more and that might be a protection in the end.

Only other option is something like Kurt suggested where people vouch for other people or something. Then it'd be more like a private yahoo list or something.

Okay, rambling, will stop now.

Just love ya'll and hate to hear that some are feeling they can't be as comfortable here cause of other people whether old or new members. That just ain't right.

hugs
bru

Doctor McKey wrote:Zazu... not to contradict you, but per company policy, this is in fact NOT a back stage area. I go back to my comment that what if you where in a cast only area and then a tour group came through, then does that not now constitute it being an impromptu on stage environment...
Doc, you make a number of valid points. There are indeed matters of Company business I wouldn't mention here, even if I weren't concerned about the Mouse finding out. But I don't think that's what the present debate is about.

This is an area designed by and for cast members, and where cast members' needs must take precedence when there is a conflict. There have been such conflicts in the past, and all were resolved in favor of maintaining the environment that cast members come here to find, and that includes the emotional environment.

From the home page:
Please keep in mind that this site is intended for those who work, or who have worked, in the theme park industry. While we welcome theme park enthusiasts as well, please be aware that some topics and views here may only truly be understood by one who has worked in a theme park.
Such fundamental principles as this are not on-topic for debate or dissention in any forum here.

It is indeed. And guests here might do well to remember that they our invited guests in a cast area.
Okay..thank you so much. I thought there was an IGNORE button but did not see it right away. Under User CP menu and just Edit Ignore List.

How blissful I am right now! :hottub:
