Hey, guys!!! (this pertains to NearPhilly as well)

I'm exit 1 on the NJTP and 295 - at the base of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Definitely planning on seeing Wombat the 30th of June....hope to see you guys, too.

BTW - NearPhilly, enjoy your trip next month! (I've been begging my GFs to take a trip with me, but no such luck....I have to wait until November to go with my hubby and the gods did not grant me patience)

The only time we can get away is the weekend of "Jersey week"; this is the easiest on our parents since the kids won't be have to be carted to and from school. So, to sum up, Nov 4 thru the 7th.

Ahh, good old Jersey week. I have a few years (DS is only 14 months) before that becomes our mandated time to go.

Screw the mandated time to go!!! :D: I'm a horrible parent and actually remove my children from school on our vacations. There are various reasons for this: (1) years ago I worked at an accounting firm and could only go certain times of the year, but primarily it's (2) I am very pale and don't handle the heat well, so we pick times of the year where it is cooler (like Feb and March). But I will admit....we are mindful of my son's wrestling schedule (yes....wrestling is more important than school! I'm kidding people).

Wow, sounds like we have a lot of folks here in the Philly area... who will all come meet me and see VM rehearse or perform, right? :D:

UPDATE: The Vocal Majority had an extra rehearsal last night to be taught the choreography for our contest uptune. We're working with a choreographer, Erin Howden, who is new to the VM but who has been a barbershopper since she was 12 and who has choreographed many, many gold medal choruses in both the Barbershop Harmony Society and the Sweet Adelines -- including the group that beat us last year, the Ambassadors of Harmony. So yes, we have the choreographer of the Ambassadors and the song was arranged by the Ambassadors' Associate Director, who also arranged their winning songs last year. Hey, if it works, it works -- why not get the best?

So I am incredibly sore today from head to toe -- it's a very energetic set -- but it's going to be an awesome contest presentation. It has me thinking of a certain yellow-tinged metal...

ETA: In case you've missed previous links, here are YouTube vids of the performances from the 2008 champs Masters of Harmony and the 2009 champs Ambassadors of Harmony -- both choreographed by Erin Howden.
