"Not skittish" and "quite solid" are two very different things (and I say that as someone who has owed and trained horses for nearly 30 years.) ALL horses are skittish. It's the nature of the beast, However, with proper training you can make them into "solid" horses, i.e. horses that will tolerate almost anyway (emphasis on almost). The Disney horses are like mounted patrol horses, just about as solid as you can get. But that doesn't mean that they cannot be set off by something...a noise, a sight, a touch, or whatever...that rubs them the wrong way. Is it unlikely to happen? Yes. But is it always a possibility? Yes. I have a WDW CM friend who has seen occasional Stupid Horse Tricks in the parades...nothing majorly out of control, but it could be defined as skittish. A horse is an animal, and for that very reason you can never trust it 100 percent. I trusted my old Appaloosa Cochise enough to jump picnic tables bareback on him and ride him in parades with M-80s blasting overhead, but I never let myself forget that even the best horse is only 99 percent solid unless it's Audioanimatronic.

Hee hee hee...that might be Churchy's proof. Maybe she knows something we don't...after all, Imagineering isn't all that far away from DLR...all those horses are perfectly behaved Audioanimatronics!

(But wait...didn't the robots turn on the humans in Westworld? I don't think I'm going to be riding the Main Street trolley anymore.)

Oh trust me, the animatronic horses mess up too. Get a lightning strike in just the right place and they'll pee on the floor just like the rest of us.

Are you referring to that video of Mr. Lincoln hitting the floor that was shown on AFHV a number of years ago? Where he went down by degrees until he was on the floor? Or is there another incident?

The first time Lincoln broke down, back at the World Fair, they were still using red hydraulic fluid. The leak started in his head, and first showed as a stain on his shirt. Looked like he'd been shot, and of course the SGs reacted in kind!

Disney immediately switched to a pale green hydraulic fluid, so the next time, when he blew a gasket in his hips, it looked like he'd peed his pants. Some times you just can't win for losing!

Not a president, but Waldorf at Muppet Vision 3D blew a hose one day and spewed all over the guests (and upholstery) below. That one cost.

Even if an Audioanimatronic horse pees, at least you don't have to clean its sheath (Google that one and shudder...it's the worst part of owning a gelding and that's all I'm gonna say about that.)
