The term "Right to work state" actually means squat by legal definition... By law a "Right to Work" state only means that the employer has the right to fire an employee as long as all seven steps to just cause has been met (
see link for more information) as i will explain more below.
An employer has to do the following to comply with the "Right to Work" laws....
1) Reasonable Rule or Work Order.
Disney has to provide a written rule that predates the offense and completely defines the rule, the punishment, and the reason for such
2) Notice.
Though they have given notice to Zazu about his tours, they must present it in writing.
3) Sufficient Investigation.
An investigation would have to be compleated showing that a rule had been broken
4) Fair Investigation.
Disney would have to investigate in conjunction with the union that any foul play had been committed against company. guidlines
5) Proof.
Disney would have to prove with out doubt that Zazu had done something to break company policy with in the guide for guests seeing that we are to be guests and not cast when off duty.
6) Equal Treatment.
Disney would have to ask that all tour group leaders stop doing their tours in the park as for they are doing it for money
7) Appropriate Discipline.
Disney must treat each case the same. If in the employee hand book states that the employee shall receive a verbal warning, then a written warning, then etc.. then they must follow this discipline schedule or the final out come will be unjust and unlawful.

Zazu wrote:One idea I was tossing around in my head even before this happened (there's enough empty space there it's not that hard) was to approach Valencia Community College about teaching a course in Theme Park Design. Naturally, it would have to include a field trip, and one would certainly be surprised if Disney blocked educational activities....
One word....YES :p: .
Not that the YES Programme is directed in anyway at College Students, but wouldn't surprise me in the least if Legal still used it to stop schools from conducting tours.
Though given that I might end up at Valencia *whistles*, having the option of taking a course with Professor Zazu is interesting (though I probably wouldn't, in the interest of student-professor neutrality, lol).
Either way, I'm sorry to hear about that, Zazu :( . Hopefully, you can publish it in some other form

I think you're mixing up terms. "Right-to-Work" refers to the prohibition of the "closed shop" (having a CBA clause which requires Union Membership as a condition of employment).
The term you're looking for is "at-will employment", which refers to the right of the employer and employee to, in the absence of a formal employment contract/Collective Bargaining Agreement/violation of federal or state laws, terminate their relationship without liability.

Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party" comes out. They enjoy doing it and the guests get a kick out of it too. Well, the other day I was stocking so was able to join them for the 5:45 street party conga line. We had a blast and so did all the guests.
Afterwards one of our managers was talking with the kitchen staff about how he could see the guests enjoy the conga line and that's the important thing. He stated he wanted to participate both times the street party came out that day during his shift but was unable to because he was busy with something at those moments.
Remember, this is KNOTT'S management we're referring to--the biggest bunch of sad sack egoists who think they are absolute dictators of everything. I mean, when they do everything they can to come up with an excuse to fire you--like get on your case about bathroom trips--especially since they think you can "hold it" even when you plainly can't--that is the worst kind of management there is. All together now-- "When the Fuhrer says, we is the master race, we Heil, (blat!) heil (blat!), right in the Fuhrer's face...."

My nephew worked at Knott's. He worked there for 1 year. He said the management sucked so bad. He injured his leg on a day off and Knott's told him to ditch the crutches and get a walking cast. He said he quit because he was in too much pain to work after breaking his leg.

He quit about 4 years ago.

How does Tour Guide Mike (Michael's VIPs) run his private tours w/o getting hassled? I guess because it is for fewer folks in the group and they are just trying to ride w/o standing in long lines. Just wondering since his private service is quite expensive and in direct competition with Disney's private tour guides.

Good question. Does he pay a fee?

I thought that my place of work had a monopoly on this.
You can use the restroom while duty/the clock, but you can't punch back in from lunch 'then' go do your business.

Sorry for it took me forever to get here for this thread...
So, it looks like myself, my fiancee, and Shorty were the last 3 to take the tour for the time being?
Ive been meaning to email you and ask how it went after that little "talk" the day of our tour. I guess this answers my question. Sorry to hear they banned it, sir! :(
