The term "Right to work state" actually means squat by legal definition... By law a "Right to Work" state only means that the employer has the right to fire an employee as long as all seven steps to just cause has been met (see link for more information) as i will explain more below.CBeilby wrote:Actually they can. Florida is a 'Right to Work' state, and they can essentially fire anyone, including Zazu, for pretty much no reason.
One word....YES :p: .Zazu wrote:One idea I was tossing around in my head even before this happened (there's enough empty space there it's not that hard) was to approach Valencia Community College about teaching a course in Theme Park Design. Naturally, it would have to include a field trip, and one would certainly be surprised if Disney blocked educational activities....
I think you're mixing up terms. "Right-to-Work" refers to the prohibition of the "closed shop" (having a CBA clause which requires Union Membership as a condition of employment).CBeilby wrote:Actually they can. Shorty82 wrote:That's not true of all managers. A little back story to set the scene: The Confectionery kitchen staff enjoys doing a conga line through and around the Confectionery when the "Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party" comes out. They enjoy doing it and the guests get a kick out of it too. Well, the other day I was stocking so was able to join them for the 5:45 street party conga line. We had a blast and so did all the guests.
Afterwards one of our managers was talking with the kitchen staff about how he could see the guests enjoy the conga line and that's the important thing. He stated he wanted to participate both times the street party came out that day during his shift but was unable to because he was busy with something at those moments.
Good question. Does he pay a fee?dlaushey wrote:How does Tour Guide Mike (Michael's VIPs) run his private tours w/o getting hassled? I guess because it is for fewer folks in the group and they are just trying to ride w/o standing in long lines. Just wondering since his private service is quite expensive and in direct competition with Disney's private tour guides.
I thought that my place of work had a monopoly on this.felinefan wrote:Remember, this is KNOTT'S management we're referring to--the biggest bunch of sad sack egoists who think they are absolute dictators of everything. I mean, when they do everything they can to come up with an excuse to fire you--like get on your case about bathroom trips--especially since they think you can "hold it" even when you plainly can't--that is the worst kind of management there is. All together now-- "When the Fuhrer says, we is the master race, we Heil, (blat!) heil (blat!), right in the Fuhrer's face...."
