Let's do the time warp again! LOL

Where have the weeks gone? hubby was sick and then I was reeeeeally sick but I am on the mend. Then I was going to post last night to say hi but the power went out- again- ugh! every time the wind goes above 40 mph the pole behind our house just pops like popcorn, I am going to have to get after the electric company we've had three major outages in the past six months (a fortune in lost groceries) I am just so grateful it came back on within 24 hours that I didn't even care about emptying out the fridge again.

We had a triumph of sorts this week: first time we got to go out to lunch, dad, my daughter, and I, as was our weekly habit before cancer... was a good day.

love to all
bru

Soooo glad to see you posting again, Bru, and am happy to hear that your dad was able to accompany you on an outing. He must be doing much better. Yayyy!!

Now, what's the story - are you still scheduled for some type of surgery in March?

Wow. I just found this thread. I wondered what the heck had happened.

Sometimes, that new post button could use some help. Time to flip the flippin' cookies.

Good to see you back around.

[font="Palatino Linotype"]welcome back bru! i'm back myself after (gulp) several months being away...i've been busy...doing what i'm not exactly sure, but it built up (ok, ok...at xmas i was busy with the kiddies at school and going to d-land...started the year that way too by celebrating with 2 sets of people at d-land for their birthdays...we even met a cm who was from wdw hoping for a job at d-land)...but it sure feels good to be back again, eh bru?

sounds like you're trying to get things back to normal (a bit...pre-cancer days)...i hope it continues...but what's going on with you and your case?

Bru-

As someone who read what you said about the font size...WELCOME BACK!!

Nice to see that you made it through all that freaking stress.

Glad Dad is still around, make the time to hang with him. I know you know that, but I have a friend who is going through fixing up the house post her parents both passing. She's strong as are you!

You're being thought of...

Aww thanks guys! Big squishy hugs all round ((((Nota, Elena, Wallaby))))

Yes, Dad has been making it over to the house to see me about once a week now (with another visit scheduled tomorrow- we might actually get our Wall-E movie day at last!) He lives to spend time with his granddaughter. I have taken to letting her blow off her schoolwork in the afternoon the day he's up to going out (we homeschool- she more than makes up for it other times) and we are cherishing every day we get.

(((((Wazz))))) Yes my appointment with the specialist is still set for late March- and I'm losing more vision exponentially it seems. This is just like what happened last year with my left eye before it went completely blurred on me- I go to bed and wake up with less vision. I have to be led in public now as any glare day or night takes the rest of my vision completely and have taken to wearing my dark glasses out of the house everywhere because 1) they do help reduce the exaggerated glare even if they don't make anything clearer anymore (they're prescription) and B) they give people a heads up that I can't see where I'm going/what I'm doing. Otherwise people tend, even with my crutch in hand, to think I am nimble on my feet and expect me to get out of the way of their wayward grocery carts while they're texting (yes, have almost been run over by such 'drivers' in Target)

It's impossible to deny the impact on my daily life now and I feel like I"m on a clock somehow. I tend to want to overdo with my eyes- read as much as I can (biggest possible font) write as much as I can- all of it- because soon I may have to do a lot of things differently.

Surgery really is the only option- and the only hope for my sight. Whether or not they'll go through with it this time is one thing- whether or not it'll work, none of them can even hazard a guess, and so I'm trying to prepare myself for any eventuality.

Will keep you all posted and if I can't, I'll send my husband on here. I should really sign him up with a username while I can still see to do it...will work on that. When I get it set up I'll have him come round to say hello (Shorty's met him- he can vouch that I actually have a husband and am not one of those looneys on the internet making up family members on chat forums LOL)

hugs to all,
Bru

PS All the CM's are in my thoughts with the news story I read tonight about Disney saying layoffs are coming??? :( :( So worried about everybody. I wish I was feeling better I swear I'd plan a spur of the moment trip down to WDW just to do my share for the local economy. Love ya'll!!!
