We had one that we used once in a while, for a very specific reason (and not to the person in question.)

PEWIT (problem exists with IT) (pronounced POO-IT)

(usually resulted in their job loss..amoung other things.)

It's almost as good as when I get people who get in the front cab, I greet them and get silence in return. Then, after a bit, one asks a question (not to me) about whether anyone is driving. As I start to answer, one of the other guests talks over me about how I don't actually drive, I am just there to monitor the systems (or take over in an emergency, whatever), and they'll even occasionally talk over me as I try to give the correct information. That's usually about the time I go ahead and get an overspeed. When they ask what's going on, I'll tell them I accidentally sped and the computer stopped me... Usually interesting to see how they respond to that... especially if they continue thinking it's all automated. It's always amazing to me when people act like I am not there after I say hello. As EmptyCinema can tell you, I am not exactly quiet about it. It amazes me that they can talk over me and act like they don't hear me... until I do something abnormal.

New Years Week is almost over...
OMG that reminds me of what my then 10 year old son did. We got lucky to ride in the front cab when he looks at the driver and as only a 10 y/0 boy can say.... I don't know why your here, you don't drive this thing. Oh lord I could have died then and there. Bless the young man he stoped the monorail right there and then and explained just what the driver did. It was one of the most informative things I have ever learned about disney. DS decided then when he grew up he wanted to be a driver at 19 I still hear it from him.

I got to ride in the front cab when I went in December, but I did it on a short run, MK to the Contemporary. I was sharing the cab with a father and two little kids... I felt kinda bad about it actually, because they came up and asked after the platform fellow had already cleared me to ride in the front, and I was in the cab when the family came up and asked, and they were a party of 4. Mom sent dad and the kids on and went to ride in the proper cars without them... but anyway, the kids and father were dead silent, kind of dear in the headlights when the monorail driver tried to talk to them, so I asked a question, and after that the kids I guess seeing that he wasn't going to tell them to be quiet and let him drive or something, started talking to him too. It was cute.

I'm too afraid my question was annoying to post it tho...

But I knew he was really driving the monorail.

Sorry about the SG's Wallaby tell me this tho' why does God hate monorail blue? It's been my favorite since childhood though I admit in recent years, pink has gained on it *smile*

I just wondered why the Almighty has singled out my favorite train.

hugs!

Look out - we're headed your way! I'm going to stand up there and talk loudly to DS about how the monorail is fully automated, and the drivers are there for "looks" only. Then I will continue with planning our trip to "Disney" where we will ride the Rockets to Mission Mars before heading to Flying over California and riding the roller coaster in the big golf ball.

Anything else I can mention that will make you want to throw me off the platform?

Just kidding of course... I think DS knows more about the operation of monorails than any 6 year old should, and he is the first one to correct other people when they screw up the names of attractions! Yeah... we are going to jail for raising a Disney addict :p:

Monorails seem to melt the brains of guests. From the monorail at DL-
