There are times in life online and in real life that I want to smack someone upside the head. Most of us at SGT would not want to go to jail for murder or assault and battery. I could probably kill someone with a gun but I feel that in life the answer is education and sterilization, lol. Have you ever heard of eugenics? At the turn of this century poor people and slightly simple minded or handicapped were sterilized as part of the Nazi style sterilization programs to get rid of poor human breeding stock while encouraging good stock to reproduce.

The problem with eugenics is that it ignores a few basic truths:
1.) How do you keep from drawing the line too far in deciding that someone is "undesirable" and thus not worthy to live?

2.) Are you aware that seemingly "perfect" people can still produce "imperfect" children? Or that there are a host of medical issues that crop up only after a person has reproduced?

3.) Most people who have benefitted the human race were poor, disabled in some way, or otherwise the "wrong religion" (Jews, for example), etc., in arts, medicine, sports, science, and so forth.

4.) Perfection doesn't exist.

5.) If eugenics ruled, the human race would become extinct.

I remember reading a story about a typically ordinary couple who had two children. Both kids were reading within six months of birth and were in college by age eight. The father was a chief in the Coast Guard and mom was a nurse.

Ain't genetics cool? :D:

Sounds more like nurture rather than nature.

But I remember reading long ago that scientists, in their quest to see to what extent heredity played in intelligence, used mice for their study. They ran the mice through mazes of increasing complexity, and grouped the mice into intelligent (fast learners), average, and dull (slow learners). They bred intelligent mice together, and tested the offspring, keeping records of what percent were intelligent, or average, or dull. They did the same with the average and dull mice. Then they crossbred intelligent with average, intelligent and dull, dull to average, etc., and tested the resulting offspring.

They found that average mice were more likely to produce intelligent offspring, and that intelligent mice were more likely to produce average or even dull offspring. The crossbred offspring were, if I recall right, more evenly spread out between intelligent, average and dull.

In fact, in about every case I've heard of superintelligent kids, the parents were more likely to be average in intelligence. I think Marilyn vos Savant, the most intelligent person in the world, came from average parents. I'd have to double-check.

You might want to Google Susannah Wesley; she had her many children talking, doing chores, and reading and writing not only English but Greek and Latin before each was of school age, which back then was 7 years. They weren't overly intelligent, they were well nurtured.

The problem with eugenics is that it would not solve the SG plague....
SGs consider themselves the superior race and do not need to follow rules due to the fact that they and their offspring are just too darn important, physically attractive, and entitled compared to us ordinary folk who are just there to have a nice time and follow the rules. They will continue to proliferate and we will continue to suffer, with only this board as a place of refuge. At least here we are safe to make fun of them and plan our defensive strategy!

Like I was saying eugenics is out, killing them is out so that leaves us with posting here and educating them.

It was nature. Neither parent did anything to start them off. The parents had no explanation for it.
