DOH
Have you ever seen a dog work as an accountant, ski, and surf? If he was a dog then his xxx would be very obvious, lol.
Have you ever seen a duck like Donald.
Mickey is really a rat and rats have nice long naked tails.

Sorry to break it to you but not many Disney characters are actually like the real animal.

No. That's not the same thing. :p:

Mickey IS a mouse, Donald IS a duck, and so on...

It was never said that Bolt wasn't a real dog, just that he is merely a "new" or unknown breed of dog.

It seems to me, that the filmmakers might have done this so that children don't beg their parents for a dog that looks exactly like Bolt.

Just like when the live-action 101 Dalmatians movies came out, children wanted Dalmatians, the only problem is, Dalmatians are not very good dogs for children.

And also when Finding Nemo came out, that suddenly made Clown fish popular.

Heck, if one were to visit the website for "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" there is a large disclaimer that states;

"Owning a pet is a major responsibility. Dogs require daily care and constant attention. Before bringing a dog into your family, research the specific breed to make sure it is suitable for your particular situation. Learn about and be willing to undertake the serious responsibilities of dog care. Always consider adoption from a reputable shelter or rescue program."

There's always DNA modification.

I just read an article that talked about people trying genetic modification experiments at home. Stuff like changing yogurt bacteria that will glow green to signal the presence of melamine, glow in the dark cat, etc. Pretty innocent stuff.

Critics of the movement worry that these amateurs could one day unleash an environmental or medical disaster.

Jim Thomas of ETC Group, a biotechnology watchdog organization, warned that synthetic organisms in the hands of amateurs could escape and cause outbreaks of incurable diseases or unpredictable environmental damage.

"Once you move to people working in their garage or other informal location, there's no safety process in place," he said.

Yeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

One of the reasons I really liked Bolt (besides the fact that it's a helluva funny movie) is because Bolt was not an obvious purebred and came from a shelter. I'm so sick of movies that glorify purebreds and portray litters of puppies as cute. Yeah, they are, but what's NOT cute are the thousands of puppies and dogs getting destroyed every day. If you really want a purebred, go to a shelter in a few weeks and have your pick of those cute Christmas puppies who were given on impulse and piddled on the floor one too many times.

I liked the message sent by Mittens' situation too, i.e. responsible pet ownership should be a lifetime commitment.

A friend just picked up a purebred shitzu from a similar situation. She paid half price and rescued a cute little fur ball. She owns a small store so the fur ball will be very socialized.

I remember when we moved to FL from IL, along with our three cats, one horse, and a cockatiel. I was shocked at the number of people who asked me, "You brought your animals with you?!" as though it was such a big surprise. What were we supposed to do, dump 'em in IL and get new ones here? (Sigh...I'm sure there are plenty of people who would say "yes").

And on a related note, driving an Aztek full of animals through a freak ice storm in Atlanta is my idea of hell on earth. Thankfully the horse wasn't in there too...he came to FL later.
