Although I only got to participate in the Disney Magic for 9 months, (and working in the "Value Resorts" at that) I was definitely a "real" CM. CP status doesn't necessarily require a bratty attitude.
Right, now that's over with, congrats on finding your True Love. :) May we all be as fortunate!
I was definitely not trying to say CP = not a real CM. I was saying the attitude they demonstrated made them not a "real" CM. Some of the best CMs I've seen are the CPs who love what they're doing. Sorry if it was unclear. :)

May be working the 29th, pretty likely to be working the morning of the 4th. I'd offer to meet with you two in between, but I expect you'll be too busy sucking face.

If you WERE working, how would one find you? I suppose looking for a brightly colored bird wouldn't work. :) We're actually doing breakfast at Chef Mickey's on the 4th...
Are you going to be off for the actual New Years and other days in between? If so, that must make you one of the lucky few, given how busy it is then.

I was thinking It's A Wonderful Life. But I could see that too. I didn't know we had a cultured pirate.

Just don't do something like the dude in Lawry's (EXCELLENT prime rib restaurant in downtown Chicago) one Valentines Day. Mr. Syndrome and I were there to celebrate our anniversary, and of course it was packed with couples. All of a sudden a piercing scream paralyzed the entire dining room. Everyone was struck silent and staring like deer in headlights to figure out what was going on. Turns out a proposing dude had put the diamond ring in the dessert, and his fiance had just chomped down on it! It all had a happy ending...she didn't do any dental damage and said "yes," and the entire dining room burst into applause. I bet they'll be telling their grandkids that story.

Good to know, but I wouldn't do anything like that, I don't think. :)
There are only 2 requirements/super strong desires: 1. A photo (photopass) and 2. Mickey/Minnie...
At least those are the 'hints' that have been dropped. And not so subtly.

To be more specific, ask a photographer (they wear blue and white striped shirts on Main Street) for a Photopass manager. You ask a merchandise CM (guys wear a brown plaid vest, ladies a brown plaid skirt) for a manager you'll get one of my merchandise managers who won't be able to help and will have to call a Photopass manager anyways. Be prepared to wait a few minutes as the manager will usually have to come up from the Photopass base or maybe a little farther, chances are one won't be in Expo Hall right at that exact moment.
I reccomend that unless there is no line at the Photopass counter to go over to the "Photo Corner" on the left, right Tony's Restaurant check-in, and asking. There's usually two CMs there, one will be an Operating Participant from Visa (you can sign up for a Disney Visa card over there) but the other will be a Photopass CM. That will save a little time, instead of waiting in line just to talk to a CM to get them to call a manager you talk to a CM right away.
EmptyCinema wrote:Thanks for the tip on the expo hall as well -- never thought they would send a photographer somewhere. Though having a photographer somewhere "random" might be a little suspicious as well.
Unless your GF knows every single Photopass location then it won't be to suspicious. There are a LOT of photo spots, some of them in weird places. Also, I'm sure if you ask the manager that he can arrange for the photographer to wait in a discrete area until it is time for him to do his thing.
Congratulations and best of luck on making this the most magical proposal ever!

Out of curiosity, where is Photopass base? I've heard it's under the castle.

Great idea, thanks.

I wouldn't put it past her to know every photopass location. She keeps track of everything Disney World. We've done 700+ photopass photos in a week (at her urging, lol). I can't count the number of times people have asked her what department she worked in, assuming she's a CM.

There's a few actually. There is one under the castle but it is for the Boutique and the north end of the park. There's also a base in Toontown that the photographers there operate out of. The base that covers Main Street and where the manager will come from is under Main Street, in the area of the Bakery if I'm not mistaken.
Great idea, thanks.
No problem, glad to help.

LOL. Hope you got the CD! With that many pictures you are paying next to nothing per picture to get the CD.
Thanks! You guys are awesome!
You're welcome! If at all possible I'd love to be able to help put more and to be a witness to the proposal, we'll have to see what you work out and what my schedule is the day you decide to pop the question.
