We had the Vacuform and the Thingmaker--those were a blast! We were always careful with them, though. We also had Incredible Edibles, which was similar to the Thingmaker, but it made edible creepy crawlies. We loved that!
Another cool toy I had as a kid was a Spirograph. The sales slogan--"You just can't leave it alone"--was dead-on. I could hardly leave mine alone! Or how about Plastiforms, where you had plastic decals that stuck to a plastic sheet and used to create your own scenes from cartoons, etc.? I could be here forever discussing my family's favorite toys.

LOVED my Spirograph! :)
Also had some plastiforms, think mine was Sleeping Beauty :aurora:
Never had a LiteBrite, tho, didn't they recall them all?
This year I was able to find Pumpkin Lites that you stick in the Pumpkin to
create a design ala Lite Brite (You put one of those changing LED lites inside the Pumpkin)
Also loved my Operation Game, gyroscope, and my brothers origional Hot Wheels...he had that carrying case that was shaped like a tire full of them, LOVED the Red Baron one. He had the Plastic track that you could clamp to things to make loops and jumps. Of course we had Barbie and GI Joe (they dated) ;)

Was that the one where you cut out the plastic figures, then colored them with a really weak pen, then when you heated them, they shrank and the colors became very bright?

I had a gyroscope, my youngest sister had LiteBrite, don't recall what became of it, maybe it got returned due to the recall. We had Barbie, as well as Ken and the knock-off of Barbie, Tammy; don't remember if we had Tammy's little sister Pepper or not. I remember Shrinky-Dinks, but we didn't have them. We loved our troll dolls, the ones made by Dam Things; we also had a cabin for the trolls that was also a carrying case. I still have my trolls! My older sister used to have patterns and books for making troll doll clothes with felt cloth, sequins and tiny pearls; I've been looking off and on for those, because they may have been with her stuff that was left behind in storage up north. She left her things in the care of a family of friends, but so much time has passed we can't remember their names; my sister died in 1981, and who knows where the stuff that belonged to her is now.

My kids always wanted Shrinky dinks, but I never understood the point. So they got to make them at their friends' house, and then I threw them away when they lost interest in their little treasure!

Strangely enough, I was getting all the stuff ready this morning for the AMvets, and DW was giving away a lot of her crafts stuff that she did not use. And there were sheets of that stuff in there!!! it was plastic sheeting that she would draw on with a fine tip pen, then cut it our, "Paint" it, and then heat to shrink!! I think she got it at a Michaels store.
