there are a lot of new cm's at space these days...and they've been giving me grief over the icon on my gac (telling me i should be going in through the fast pass entrance)...i try telling them i'm slow into those cars now and need the extra time that the off-track car gives, that i have a disability that isn't readily apparent and i shouldn't have to explain myself (i did that at city hall and they stamped it with what they thought was the appropriate stamp and told me where to enter certain lines...i specifically ask about space mt. almost everytime)...i told them at city hall about this problem and all they did was say the same thing i already knew...new cm's

I think if you told the Space CM's that you were slow getting in to vehicles and needed the ADA car, I think they'd appricate it. Rather than your needs to move slow cause a delayed dispatch, a back up and then a 101. I hope to work at space mountain one day. If I do I promiss not to be difficult. Just tell me who you are. LOL.

DL's Space has an off-track car for handicapped loading? Cool, I didn't know that. I've never heard of a coaster with off-track loading capabilities. Those off-track cars are a very good idea. Helps to minimize the delay to the other guests and no worries about causing a 101 due to a delayed dispatch.

the Matterhorn has had for many many decades a place where CMs can put a car out of service. The whole thing slides right over toward the mountain and a new track is on the other side of the sliding platform so that the car and its track is on the siding while a new piece of track is in its place. I have done that once when there was a need to side a car because of some delay or what ever.

It is very easy to do but finding the room is the problem. I guess that is a new feature within the last 10 years at SM. Any coaster like SM or even Everest could have such a system in place.

Let em go 101 a couple times due to a slow load with you and I bet they start to remember ;)

Seriously, who DOESN'T know the Bubble Ladies!

I'm thinking the siding came when DL's Space got that huge refurbishment a few years back. I know Everest doesn't have anything like it, I've been on that one enough I'd have noticed it.

When Space mountain went through the rebuild a few years back, they did take everything out. They also digged 3 stories down to add more space. It was a smart idea for the sliding car. For those who need extra time to get in. My friend had a pass and we ended up using that car. The Matterhorn, I don't know. I think the left track might have one. I have seen them slide a track over with cars on it. Small World, I know does not.

I was on the right track when I got a free reride and got to set on the siding. The principal is based on a roundhouse where trains set on a platform that turns so as to send the train onto another track.

Let us use the siding track at the right side of the bobsled for my scheme. The main line could go to the loading area and a seperate path would go to the left and to a left side loading dock just like Big Thunder has a right and left track. Instead of two tracks they could use the sliding track then mark the car with a tag of some sort so that CMs would know that it was to be sidelined. With a siding track they would not need to cross tracks to load. I am a genius thus I do not work for Disney, giggles.
