I assume "Sheriff" John Rovick and Hobo Kelly are still alive.
Not sure about Kelly, but Rovick is alive and well and living in Glendale. I have his mailing address if anyone cares to write.

My brother and he had the same surgeon, and I suppose he was the first celebrity I ever had a conversation with. Nice guy, and he appeared to like kids offstage as well as he did on (not a constant with kid show hosts). He walked up to *me* in the waiting room.

I once designed a type font using just revolvers and rifles. Named it "Serif John" in his honor. I'll have to see if I still have a copy of it and send him a note set with same.

"Lunch Brigade." Haven't heard that title in a long time, thanks for the memory.

There is such a button. Try looking on the forum directory page. Not the one listing the fora, but the one with a list of threads.

And don't worry about me reading a post. While I do at times fall behind, I read nearly every post on the board, if only to search for acronyms and smiley requests.

feline & Zazu, ripped this from google FYI; "Where is Hobo Kelly?" "She's alive and living in Boise ID with her husband. If you check google video there are a few clips about her."

It's interesting how every part of the country seemed to have a guy that did the cartoons in the morning. Here in Atlanta, my husband tells me it was "Officer Don" (I think we actually met him once). Where I grew up in Miami, we had "Skipper Chuck". Y'all made me wonder, so I looked him up and dang if he hadn't passed away 2 years ago. So RIP Skipper Chuck. I'll miss you.

Not to be left out, those of us in MA had Rex Trailer and Sgt Billy.

I met Rex once and had the honor of driving Sgt Billy around at a fund raising event. He was a great guy.

When my family and I were in Australia in '65-'66, there was a kid show, similar in format to Bozo's Bigtop, but I no longer remember the name of the show or the hosts. It was hosted by a bloke in a uniform, I guess like a cop or military officer, and a clown which used a harmonica to talk. I remember they showed a clip on buses or a bus trip, and the bus' headsign said Special. The clown, on seeing this, asked through his harmonica if the bus was going to Special--I know, because his mate said, no, the bus isn't going to Special, it's being used for special occaisons. That's about all I remember of the show. Hey, I was 9, I had lots to occupy my attention.
