In 2005 i was at AK on the Safari and an ostrich decided to sit on the track/road the vehicle travels on.. luckily it didn't sit there too long.
I have also stood in staging a waiting for a log on Splash fountain for 15 minutes while a family of Ducks took a dip in the splash down pond.
Also in2006, i was at Cedar Point when a Millennium Force Train hit a seagull on the drop.. the fell dead into the front train.. the poor guy and his daughter were traumatized.. 2.5 minutes on a hell train with that poor creature at their feet.. (mind you that ride photo must have been a classic..)

How about the time Fabio got hit in the face while riding a roller coaster?

As recently as June I can confirm that the ostriches were still quite the attention hogs at times, BW can back me up on that one. Actually one of the funniest stories from my CP happened one rainy day at Fastpass return. I was chatting with the CM at the Harambe Station entrance as it was off-season and the rain had pretty much emptied out Africa, if not the park.
One of our coordinators came over with his radio and said we had to hear this. He took off the headset just in time for us to hear one of the drivers say, "...yes, an egg. It laid an egg in the road!" We all got a good laugh on that one, it was certainly one of the more interesting animal stops during my time at Kilimanjaro. We all got a good laugh on that one. Fortunately things were slow enough that waiting for animal programs to come remove the egg didn't back up the line much; guests didn't seem to mind waiting a few extra minutes in the covered line either. Never a dull moment in Harambe!
EDIT: I've been lurking for a while now, but I guess this is my first post so...JAMBO!

Welcome Neos. I'm sure that you will have many a SGT to report on.
I can imagine the Marsupial welcoming committee will be along soon.

Well, we have to be very nice about it, considering animals pretty much run the place.
