That's awsome! Maybe I will see you when I come back down again in May.
Shorty82 wrote:Hopefully in a little more than 2 weeks I'll be moving down there. My uncle in the area is going to let me live in the spare bedroom in his house until I get on my feet. I just got off the phone with him and he'll talk to his wife to make sure moving so soon is fine as I was originally thinking it would be the end of March but he agrees that the sooner the better. I'll set the date in stone once he calls me back. I could possibly move sooner but I have to give 2 weeks notice at work. That'll also give me the time needed to get packed up.

I called my casting representative yesterday afternoon and left a message and I'm about to try calling her again so she can get working on getting me a role at WDW.

I just got the address and looked up the house on Google Earth. The house is not far from the back entrance of the MK so I'll be close to work, especially if I get a role somewhere in the MK.
Does your uncle live at Buena Vista Place?

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I sure will. Who knows, I might get a Merchandising Role at PO. It depends on where a job opens up.

We'll see. I don't see my journey being all that interesting to others.

Check the blog, I'll be updating it in about 15 minutes or so with some stuff I just found out.

No. He and his family are moving into a house in Windermere. The house is about 10 minutes from the entrance to the main MK cast lot. Just up 535 from the MK.

:D: FWW? Future World West?

If they give me Soarin' I'll be sure to put a good word in for you. I know you really want to work there but having trouble getting transferred there.

Yeah, Future World West.
Thanks Shorty, you're the best.
Though I think FWE is needing a lot of CMs. You could get SSE! That's a pretty good attraction, except apparently if you get an intrusion you have to run up like 12 flights of stairs... but I digress. I've seen a TON of FWE shifts on the Extra Hours Hotline, so something tells me they are hurting. They are the jocks of Epcot, because they have Test Track, Mission: Space, and SSE.
Actually Epcot High School Works this way:
SSE-AV Dorks (communication, get it?)
Nemo-Cheerleaders
Land-Future Farmers of America
Soarin'-Jocks
Imagination!-Drama Dorks
Test Track-Auto Shop Grease Monkeys
Mission: Space-Science Fair Dorks
Universe of Energy-Stoners (look at the colors! is that a dinosaur?)
Outdoor Foods-Drug Dealers ;)
Guests-Special Ed! (jk) ;)

There are no full-time attractions positions open except the one at a water park according to my casting rep. I'm hoping something opens up this next week so I can get hired and start all of the things that have to be done before actually starting at my position (Traditions, background check, etc.). I want to get locked into a position ASAP and to start the actual hiring process on the 19th if at all possible.

There are two really good things about being statused at the water parks.

Winter hours are 10:00 to 5:00 with no EMH.

Summer hours are generally 9:00 to 8:00 with EMH only one day a week (Thurs AM at BB, Sat PM at TL).

Your ID will allow access to certain Sports and Recreation locations that other CMs have to pay for.

Since the water parks are much smaller than the theme parks they are not so bureaucratic.

Yeah, but the position that was open at a water park is one where you have to be a strong swimmer and I am not one. I just am not a strong swimmer and do not feel I should be in a role where strong swimming skills could be needed, such as a slide in a water park or operating a boat.

Just to put in a good word of my own here.

QSR Foods isn't as bad as it's made out to seem sometimes. If you have a Front-of-House role, you get oodles and oodles of guest interaction (not to mention some great SG stories :D :) ; it's also certainly not as intense as Attractions. Also, I don't know about Florida, but here, Foods has some of the highest paid Operations roles (we generally make around $9.32-$10.00/hr, while Attractions/Stores/Main Entrance make $8.00-$9.00/hr)

I think WDW foods works a tad bit differently than DL's (we have division of labour among the FOH roles (Host, Cashier, and Busser are seperate roles), while they use CDS to rotate everyone around the various roles), but, if worse comes to worse, you could just try it and apply for a transfer later.
