You can sign out up to five uniforms at a time (and it is a lot like shopping), you can either clean them yourself or turn them back in when you're done and sign out five more. I can't bring myself to pass up free laundry, so I turn them back in after I wear them. The problem is that all but one of the shirts in my size suddenly disappeared (I assume they were signed out by someone who elected to do the laundry themselves), so lately I have been going every day to turn in one of the two shirts left that fit me, pick up the one I turned in yesterday, repeat.

Yep, that's what we do. The main Costuming building is over at Harbor Pointe (behind Tomorrowland), we pick out what we want, and we can take them home and wash them or return them and let them wash them.

I thought they would still use the old system in Florida since it's so much bigger than we are and, as a result, so many more costumes to keep track of.

Is everyone as HAPPY as I am that men do NOT wear those short shorts anymore? GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! The eighties sucked big time on style.

And that creepy Pooh costume with the hunnypot on his head. I am soooooooo glad they got rid of that thing. Mickey's ears looked a little bigger too. That was to hear Goofy sneaking into Minnie's house at night! LOL! ;)

Cool vid though! I MISS THE SKYWAY AT DL. :( Never went on the one at WDW. I love to see these old vids, they crack me up. There is a whole Disney series at youtube. I will link it for you to check out.

These are 6 short videos about Disneyland. They originally were from one show called "The Disneyland Story" from the original Disney program called "Disney Presents"

I just love watching Uncle Walt!!! :walt:

This is the very first episode of the Disney anthology television series, AKA Disneyland, Walt Disney Presents, ect. Premiered on October 27, 1954.

I think part of the problem is that some areas (I started in Watercraft so I know TTC is one) have a waiting list for lockers; if someone doesn't have a locker you can't really ask them to change at work.

Character costuming is still in the utilidors, also costuming is spread around. My sister works at the Contemporary and they have their own costuming, the TTC has costuming in the Chip & Dale parking lot, Epcot has their own, etc. So even though WDW as a whole has more costumes, any one costuming location my not have much more that DL.

One thing that I thought was interesting was the mention of 2 million costumes in the video. I'm pretty sure I heard recently was 1.2 million for the Magic Kingdom (don't know if that includes Character costuming and Chip & Dale). If that number no longer includes Chip & Dale and Character costuming since they are split off that would probably explains why it went down; but if it includes them and they went from from 2 million total to 1.2 million total costumes (while adding more Cast Members), that may explain why sometimes it is so hard to find stuff in your exact size.

I love these videos! Makes me wonder if anyone watching this back in 1954 realized that they were watching the birth of an idea that's become as big as it has.

WDW still has assigned lockers? DL used to have those, but got rid of them about the time they introduced the new lockers. We just have day lockers that we need to empty out at the end of our shifts now...

We do at Westgate, can't speak for the rest of property.
