But what about the fact that the rum would probably burn in their eyes, buying you at least a few more seconds? I mean, you can always distill more...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Well, used RUM, and secondhand water DOES have its uses...

Yep, I have had a few instances of incensed guests. Both were as a character attendant. One involved the castle stage when a little kid got onto the stage from the stairs on the bottom. I don't really want to get into the details, but the parents tried to get something comped (I don't remember what). Luckily there were a lot of wittnesses around.

The second one took place with Peter Pan and Wendy. The line had been closed, and the were literally going back to Neverland in 1 minute when a lady comes running up with her kids. I kindly and politely tell her that unfortunately the line is closed, when she gets all mad and is "oh come on, one more, don't make a scene (I don't make a scene?!), this is rediculous, so on". I keep on telling her that sorry, the line is closed. Well, she gets in my face and does the "tell me your name, I want to report you" business. It gets even better. She follows us as we're heading off, and keeps it up. So they leave, and I am assisting with Hook and Smee's line. She finds a manager, and continues where she left off with me. The manager backs me up, thank goodness.

Sorry this is so long.

Those guests are the worst! It's kidn of like, "You didn't see just me turn away those five other families who happen to be watching to see if I let you in?" The worst one were the ones who would stand in line saying, "I feel so sorry for the characters standing out here in the heat" so on and so forth, and then they are the ones who have to wait while Minnie checks her cheesecake and they get very upset. They're only sympathetic when they're not the ones who have to wait.

Amen to that! I have a story from when I was at Pooh's Playground. It was right before Pooh and Tigger were going to the 3:00 parade. Pooh's line was already closed (I was at the end) and Tigger's line was about to be closed as well. Anyway. A guest comes up to Pooh's line with his 2 kids (and they were older kids too, not that it matters). I tell him that Pooh is going to go be in the parade, but he will be back at _____. He gets extremely mad, starts yelling how he wants to see Pooh, how they should be allowed to get in the line (now mind you, he's only going to be gone for about an hour). I still just politely tell him that Pooh will be back later. So Pooh finishes and goes in, so I go help out at the back of Tigger's line. Wouldn't you know it, the same guy comes over to see Tigger. The same argument occurs, except that he tells the other attendant "the same thing happened over there; she (meaning me) can tell you". There's nothing to do except tell him again they will both be back later. So he storms off. I turn to the other attendant and ask "what will happen if he comes back around ____ when they are done for the day?". Luckily, we didn't have to find out. He never came back for the rest of the day.

I'm Suprised the SG didn't use the: "thats the ONLY reason we came here, and we are leaving in a few minutes, FOREVER!!!" gambit!

I'm attractions and I had to basically be a character attendant once. I was doing kidcot up by the Garden Grill and Mickey was walking around. All of a sudden these 4 people run up the ramp into the restaurant to take pictures with him. They literally pulled him away from other families. I stood up left kidcot to help because his attendant was around the corner and didn't see him. They must have been short staffed or something. I finally got someone from GG to kick these people out. Poor Mickey he just went along with it as best he could. Then I got yelled at for leaving my "position". Yeah, like Kidcot is "safety critical".

Most restauarants only have one or two attendants at most, we can pretty much handle ourselves at the restaurants since we are not tethered to one place, and the servers are pretty good about helping us as needed (not that that is their job). If we had an attendant for every character in the restaurant, nobody would be able to move around, and it would certainly take away form the experience. It's very rare that we need intervening since most of the guests are remarkably well behaved. It helps that they're sitting down when we approach. :)

Oh yeah, gotta love that excuse- "but our plane leaves in 5 minutes and we looked EVERYWHERE for Pooh!". Uh huh, right. It was your top priority, and yet you wait til the last minute.
