Or, even better, when on July 1, 1993, Ray, the original Mayor of Main Street, saw Judy outside Expo Hall and asked her if we knew a family with kids who would like to join us as Grand Marshals on the 4th of July. (And this was during Party Gras when the GMs we in the first float of the parade with Roger cavorting above us on the float.)
Too fun!!! I remember several CM's that we met over the years, but I think they must move on to other venues.

I have made yearly visits of multiple weeks for many years. I always stayed in the same loop of Ft W. So The CMs at Trails End became very familiar to me. I tend to chat and joke with them so I can understand that some of them would recognize me. But this last Oct I arrived on my first day after an absense of nearly two years. Not only did they remember me (which i expected) but remembered my name so when I walked up to the podium on my first day back the gal at the desk greeted me by name and knew my party size without me opening my mouth once. Once she has assigned me a table we chatted a few momentswhile waiting for the seater to return, who also remembered my name and led me to my table. I then had several servers stop by my table to say hi and welcome back (and where were you last year) all of whom knew my name. Now I know I am hard to forget (I don't know if that's good or bad) but with all the returning guests and new guests that passed through those doors over a gap of two years, it amazes me that they remember my name (Again I don't know if that is a good or bad thing).

That's also one of the things I love about Fort Wilderness... that's something you can come to expect if you stay there enough times. It seems from what I've seen to be the area with the highest repeat usage by guests(although I could be wrong). I loved driving the bus there because of that. It was a place where, unlike working the parks, where you see someone once, you might at FtW see the same person five or six times a day, find out what they're doing today, get to know them a bit.

We usually hit Trails End Buffet on our trips and enjoy chatting with Alex, one of the CM wait staff. We always ask for his section. He's from Scotland and has a lively accent and enjoys talking to us about the horses at Fort Wilderness. We missed our Trails End stop this year, and I wonder if Alex is still working there.

I've never eaten at Trail's End, but I always like to attend the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I got to celebrate my birthday there last summer and I think I'll make that an annual tradition from now on. In fact, I will be going to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue for the 5th time this coming Monday (February 4th) to celebrate my arrival in Florida for my 4th CP.
Oh, here's a picture of me from the show I attended last summer with one of the performers:

He was there last October. I only saw him once at a distance so he may have been on a reduced schedule or just working a shift other than breakfast. But I agree most of the staff has been there for years (some I have seen for decades) and they are all fun to chat with. And I found that since I am generally solo they do tend to drop by my table for a chat since I don't have a table mate to chat with.
