Well at least SGT is on top of things, there is a (board x) Discussion about V&A I saw a while back, and some are outraged that they can pay (cause they HAVE the money) to let little timmy and tammy dine there, but are not allowed now. ...Hmmm "I'm rich, therefore....." I imagine that some of the CM's are starting to feel like poop because of all the entitled darlings!

I despise the fact that a guest often times will go to a manager and the manager will give them EXACTLY what they want.

We run into this ALL THE TIME in City Hall. The CM at the attraction says no to something like line-cutting, they come to City Hall to complain about the CM and ask for comps because their "day is ruined", and we say no. They want our leads. Our leads say no. They want our managers. Our managers hand them comps faster than we can say "stupid guest". This happens in every position in every job in every nation - I've been on tours where I was cursed out and physically abused leading to my ending the tour, then they scream to management so loud that not only does the management apologize to THEM, but they then sent me BACK out on tour with the same guests! It's a cultural thing that we've taught them - if you yell loud enough, people will give you whatever you want to get you to shut up.

On the topic of rich = rude; I had a guest about a month ago try to shoplift a necklace out of Pieces of Eight because he didn't want to break his $100 bill. I've also found it hilarious that I've bonded with a lot of the Blue Bayou hosts and hostesses over our mutual experiences with rich, entitled jerks.

That drives me mad!!!! We end up looking stupid, the SG walks away with a smug smile on their face. Why do we even bother saying no in the first place?

I'm lucky. I have such a robust immune system that nothing gets me down for long. Even food poisoning generally only inconviences me for a few hours. On the other hand when I went to WDW last Oct the heat hit me so hard that I was mostly flat on my back for the first 4 days (of a 3 week visit).

You guys have unions....why can't you complain or file a grievance with the union? Don't you guys have meetings with the staff where you can say, hey, the SGs are ripping us off when they do this, we don't need these people in the park, etc.. Besides, if managment allows guests to rip off the company, isn't that aiding and abetting? If only you could explain to management that when they give SGs what they want under duress like that, it makes for a hostile work environment. Knott's didn't acknowledge that (of course, managment there is a major contributor to the problem), and that stupid place is sinking fast. Do they want to end up like Knott's? Of course, people have been ripping off Disney literally from day one--people set up ladders to get over the fences on opening day, etc..

Forgive me if I sound naive, but I agree with Zazu; if I have it figured out right, bastards are not diamonds, for sure!

The Service Trades Council is a joke and in bed with management, the teamsters are weak, etc.

The STC made decisions on MiM's that they said the drivers wanted, I'd like to know which drivers. All I spoke to thought that the decisions only benefited Disney and not the rank and file members.
