I cant print anything right now as I am stupid and cant figure out how to hook our printer up to this loaner puter. You can send them anyway and I may be able to at least burn them onto CD and take to someone elses to print. Please and thank you.

I just figured out how much was spent on the favor boxes give or take and it only came out to like 60 cents each. X 12= 7 bucks total and they look really good cause of the boxes. I think I will stick at that for a total cost on them..they are getting quite a bit in them. Any extra stuff I had I stuck in the loser prize box. LOL

Craft (double meaning for this party--ba dah bump)

Periscopes
Cardboard tubes with colored cellophane on the end (I just happen to have some pink in the attic left over from last easter..lol) Tape that down and cover with black paper. I figured some stickers and stick on gems for them to use to decorate them with.??? Anything else cheap and non-messy to put on them???????
Telescopes! She means that...

You could make some tubes into simple kazoos by rubber banding some cellophane onto one end and decorating that and teach the kids to hum a Pirate song into it, as some pirates made music for their friends too.

I was thinking of serving cream soda and changing the labels on the bottles to something like.."rumble" ???????????????
I'd not have just one winner for that. It'd not be fair... Make everyone win and have a fun reward - some extra booty or something or a set of stickers... Where I work at DL we have a 'cake decorating contest' and everyone, man woman and child, gets a sticker as a prize.

ROTFLMAO...go for it P. Have you ever heard a group of 5 year olds get their hands on noisemakers all at the same time.? . The fireworks and all the music combined at the parks would be drowned out. My poor old brain couldnt handle it LOL

Speaking of music tho, I am glad you reminded me, I need to find some sort of pirate CD for the background music.

Unfortunatly I dont have the funds like the Disney company to provide a prize for every person for every game. And this is a good age to start them learning that not "everyone" wins all the time. But since they are still young and might not have that concept yet, I have an idea (that just popped in my head earlier btw..lol)

I have extra stuff from the favor boxes so I tossed it all in a cute box that I got last summer at Dollar Tree (I had 2 and used one on our last trip down to WDW for a surprise box in the car) It looks like a treasure chest complete with lid.
What I was going to do is that if you dont win a game, you get a sticker and at the end of the party (I dont hand out favor stuff till they are walking out)you can redeem your stickers for that many prizes out of the box. How does that sound? I just cant figure out whethe to make them some sort of necklace with a card to wear (to collect the stickers on) or just have them put on their clothes. Just give them a baggie to put their stuff in. These kids are going to be making out like pirates(pun intended) at this party. LOL

OH cool thot. I was trying to work as much POTC stuff in as possible but it is hard with limited funds and definately limited resources around my area.

I know what I forgot that i was going to put in the favor box.....I have the Pirate Tutorial paper that is given out at the parks from when Meghyn got one. I was going to copy (and shrink it down smaller so I can get more then one out of each copy) and give it to the kids too. What could be cooler then a commission from Capt Jack himself.

Easily made. Pillsbury rolls (in the tube) rolled out, and topped with a sauce of catsup with a little onion salt. Then a range of toppings from sliced hotdogs or sliced peparoni to diced vegies and some grated cheese (a mix of american (mostly for the "gold" color), chedar and parmesian works well). Explore a bit in advance and see what mix of toppings and mix of cheese ratios works for you. It only takes a few min in an oven (toaster oven works fine here) and you have hot, 4-6" individual pizzas. And it is even possible to allow the youngsters to make their own "Pizza of eight".

I learned this recipe back in Jr High when us guys were required to take an entire semester of home ec!!!! We even had to learn how to use a sewing machine! (It came in handy later when I got my first apt as I was too cheep to buy curtains and made my own out of some scavenged yardgoods.)
