Re: Question for all you PPP's (Purple Pants People)
I, for one, would really love to see the Monorail expanded with service to all the parks. I love the old pictures and models that show a monorail track at Downtown Disney, I think it's the one transportation system now that just plain screams "Disney!" (with exception of steam trains, of course, but they have always been used at Disney parks more as an attraction than transportation, so my original theory stands, in my mind). While I don't see any hard evidence that makes me think it's really all that possible at this point (unless I am made President of Disney, the day after which construction begins on EPCOT), but I can dream.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

You would think that they would expend a little money to upgrade the facilities, even if it is a lot, that way revenue would increase faster, especially it more resorts at WDW were on a monorail line!!Big Wallaby wrote:I, for one, would really love to see the Monorail expanded with service to all the parks. Should I hold my breath?
Methinks not.

A Modest Proposal
What might be better than the monorail, is a large People Mover system with automated cars. You just get in and press a button for where you want to go. The computer then dispatches you by the best possible route. Run the system to each park and resort and then do away with the buses.

What?? no busses, no fun stories?? Oh wait...Cheshire Figment wrote:What might be better than the monorail, is a large People Mover system with automated cars. That would be cool but I thinkj Zazu posted the cost of a system or systems elsewhere, and it is probably a "No-GO" from a money standpoint, UNLESS the cost of fuel keeps going up, then MAYBE it would be cheaper!

I like the busses but the damned hike up Mount Monorail is horrible, they have land to put in an elevator and wont. There are several places that are not handicapped friendly. Replace the monorails.Cheshire Figment wrote:What might be better than the monorail, is a large People Mover system with automated cars. You just get in and press a button for where you want to go. I disagree, the monorails are one of the more unique things about DLR and WDW. An attraction in and of themselves!!!mechurchlady wrote:I like the busses but the damned hike up Mount Monorail is horrible, they have land to put in an elevator and wont.
