I have also been threatned many times with a lawsuit. My reply is usually one of , that is your civil right, but remember, I can also counter sue if you file a law suit or threaten one, designed to deter me from performing my job.

That, as they say, makes for a lot of pause!!

That guy was a real drop case. He lost his pants, court case and, because of the suit, eventually his job as an administrative judge. He should have known better.

If you or your company has money you are a target. These days a lot of suits are settled to avoid lawyer/court costs. Basically, ya gotta look at what it will cost in time and money vs. buying the weasel off. The weasels know that and are hoping that's the way it'll go.

If any of you have watched class action suits against companies for finance or stock issues you'll usually see the name Larach. He screwed a lot of companies for some major large. Recently he got busted for conspiracy and obstruction. He paid a pretty good fine and got some time in the gray bar hotel. A lot of beers were hoisted in Silicon Valley to the judge.

Quite frankly, for all the bad idiot lawyers out there, I'd rather deal with an attorney than a hot-headed client. (Remember, behind every stupid lawsuit is not just the attorney, but a client who thinks he deserves something for nothing.)

In my line of work, when I'm dealing with an irate citizen, I smile and breathe a sigh of relief when they say they're going to turn their complaint over to a lawyer and then I'll be sorry. Haven't been sorry yet. :)

I would prefer to think of him as a "hired gun" from Texas, out to right the wrongs of all the SG's everywhere, on behalf of the SGT crew!!! Sort of like Paladin!!!
