Some dork a few days ago told me that my costume would look better if I buttoned the top button. He was probably an AP. I would have given him a piece of my mind but he looked like he was a bit special. So I didn't.

Room Reservations

Post by BabyAngel024 » Fri Apr 09, 2004 6:52 pm

I am a new CM and i work in Central Reservations for the Hotels, and we get APH all the time wanting the best rates, especially during spring break, and when we tell them we are sold out, they repy
Them :"what do you mean your sold out?"

Me : "We dont have any rooms for the dates that you are looking for."

Them: "What do you mean you dont have any rooms?"

Me: "Our three hotels have are competely sold out."

Them: "But Im an APH."

Me: "I understand that but, but i dont have any rooms for you or any one else that calls for then."

Them: "Are you sure?"

Me: "Yes i am sure."

Them: "Could check again, I am sure you have something for me."

Me: (Checking again) "Yep, we still have no rooms"

Them: "Are you sure?"

Me: "Yes i am sure."

Them: "'Are you positive?"

Oh my goodness, do they not get the idea that we are sold out and that it is spring break. Oh yeah and then they ask the question, is the park going to be busy? UMMMMMMMM.....NO we just told everyone you were coming so they decided not to come. Why are people SO Dumb!!!!! :hammer:

the only time i ever had a concern is when i got a hold of the old german maps and i read the description for the tiki room. a mistake in translation about the bird singing now displayed that " there is a whole lot of fun and f...ing in the tiki room". i am not kidding , german grammar is that sensistiv.

You've obviously never worked the Tiki Room late at night...

Smiley

Post by trojantuba » Sun Apr 11, 2004 12:26 am

Aoeaking of Guests that aren't all ther..does anyone out there know a guy they call Smiley ? This guy was banned from The cockpit of the Monorail for making passes at the female pilots, banned from Innoventions ( I witnessed this) after he thre a fit when he lost the Honeywell "Well Balenced Game" and then followed the female host around the building and finally had his Ap taken away for um....getting a little to "friendly" with one of the Main Street Horses. Last I heard his brother got a job in the park and was signing him in.

OMG, That is a name I haven't heard of in a long time. When I was an AP, I would frequent Inno. It is air conditioned inside and nice to sit and play games. Smiley used to howl like a wolf in the wall-crawl area. He used to creep me out and always want to hang out in the park with me.

Excuse me as I bang the bad mental pictures out of my head..... :hammer:

I am feeling better now.....

Anyways, as it has been stated about 60 times before, not all AP's are evil. In my opinion the bad ones are the ones that become Entitlement Ernie.

Here is another character:

Tattletale Timmy
Not only does this passhole feel they are entitled to everything and even more, they have to make sure that you follow every policies and guidelines that have been set by Disneyland. Mostly these are cast member wannabe's who are either too young or have been denied a position as a cast member. So they take it upon themselves to watch every single cast member they come into contact with and thoroughly inspect the CM's. If some little thing like, pants are a tad too long, they will either have to report it to management immediately or City Hall.

Please remember, alot of us work for $7 an hour and are barely scraping by with rent. We can't afford the luxury of being harrassed and potentially loosing our job. With that being said, if you happen to get a CM fired, which is EXTREMELY hard to do, they can get your info to where you live through your pass...And sometimes people can get a little mad.

If you are an AP who is reading this and resemble the above character, please do not get angry. Just change your ways. If you want a job at Disneyland just wait your time and do not do this. You can have your pass revoked if you tattle too much at City Hall. Leave the tattling to the CM's, we have enough of those. When you apply for a job, they will look at your record and see what, as an AP, that you have done in the past and also make a crucial hiring decision.

Nice addition!
*weeble stamp of approval*

Do they still have that loss prevention hotline? As I was leaving the park they had started a program where you called a hotline to rat out another CM and you could win prizes.

They got rid of the, Call this number and get a candy bar, hotline a while ago. But now they are training CM's to hold each other accountable, and that if it is a safety violation it must be reported immediately. Otherwise you have to inform a lead of the white socks.

It's the Everyone is Accountable Clause...So basically you have to tattle for nothing now.

How very true that it is when an AP attempts to get a job at Disney and then have all the complaints that they made when they had the AP and then get denied a job. I think of all the times I have been to WDW, Universal, and other parks I have only complained 1 or 2 times max, in a peroid of 5 and a half years.

Those few times I have complained it was something major where something of mine was damaged.

At DLP, the APs arent so much a problem once they are actually IN the park as they are when aquiring it and misunderstanding the blackout dates...
The APs that do use their passes extensively are for the most part very nice indeed and often come travelling multiple times per year from remote locations like Brussels and Lyon just because they love the park - i.e. the sort of guest you love to meet and love to spoil.

We did have a few APHs a few years ago that were a bit special and used to ride the same ride over and over again obsessively day in and day out (one guy was particularly in love with the Snow White ride, wearing a t-shirt saying "Snow White 2000 times!"), but last time I worked I saw none of them. Maybe the prices got too high for them or they were discouraged from buying new APs...
