They are super easy to make. That blue insulation foam doesnt crumble when cut like regular foam so you can actually carve them and everything. I used cheap acrylic matte (not gloss) paint from Walmart (apple barrel brand--like 50 cents a bottle) and sponges to paint with. A little messy but fun and dries quick. Just spread it on and blot some details. I dont coat them and add some moss green for well....moss. I have had a few for 3 years now and they look like they did when I first did them. Some blue is showing thru in tiny spots on a few but it looks neat like that. I love that a leaf or 2 sticks to them and makes an imprint, makes it look more real. I use permanant markers on some for the writing and others I carve the letters and daub in dark color before painting the rest of the stone.
I keep the backs unpainted and use the thin wires you are supposed to use for putting up the pink attic insulation (they come 100 in a box for like 6$--I buy new each year siince they rust) To hold them up, I stick one of the wires in the ground(2 for the bigger stones), lean the stone against it and use packing tape to hold it in place. The tape wont hold to the painted surface as well. We had huge winds yesterday afternoon and it has held in snow also. Once in a while one goes down. Not a big to throw another piece of tape on it real quick.
I didnt want to put the wires up inside so as not to poke thru the stone (ruined a few that way when I used thinner foam) I would recommend at least an inch thick or so to prevent breakage. I have had folks offer me money for them... Yeah like I have any time to make extras. :D: I can get about 25 out of one sheet of foam. Big to very small (which I stick in flower pots on sidewalk--mini graveyards)

You totally need a t-shirt that says "I AM POOH" to wear around the parks! :D:

Actually a little secret...The Pooh costume is Ralphies and he LOVES Pooh. He collects plushie Pooh's and other Pooh memorabilia. He even sleeps with a Pooh plushie!!! (The reason is because when he was in the hospital for 2 and half years, some nurse gave him a stuffed bear to sleep with for comfort, he was completely in another world, could not talk, eat, or do ANYTHING! The plush helped him to feel safe and comforted. He has slept with a stuffed bear ever since. And since he loves Pooh, we get him a new Pooh every trip to DL or WDW! He has a huge collection of bears, pretty cool. Don't tell him I told you this story! Shhhhhhh.... I will tell you another VERY funny story about his sleeping with a stuffed bear sometime. It will make you roll with laughter!) He is the one who would look great in a shirt that says, "I AM POOH" because he IS Pooh!!! Great idea actually, I may have to go to the t-shirt place before our trip and have one made for him. He really is like Pooh all snuggly and cute! :p:
Great idea, BR!!!!! :D:

Is that stuff still around???
I remember reading about Colgate's not-so-successful plans to make... you're not going to believe this... Fish Paste.

They had the same concept in the Christmas-themed house at Halloween Horror Nights. It was hanging upside down with red lights around the neck and "dripping" down. My favorite thing in that house next to an evil version of the Christmas Story leg lamp....I HATE HATE HATE those frickin' animated deer.

Susi, That story is cute(about Ralphie liking Pooh) and heart-tugging at the same time....2.5 years in the hospital....I can't imagine.
I'm looking forward to meeting you two in December...
Can any of you CM's make sure Ralphie gets a photo op with Pooh?

Aye, there be plenty of opportunities all over the World. If nowhere else, there's always Crystal Palace!

My favorite is in AK, down the path on the right just before you reach Dinoland. There was hardly anyone there (a cast member was out on the main path trying to drum up "business" for the meet-and-greet).

Hmm. So Pooh hops around from park to park almost as much as Mickey. I've seen him many times backstage at Epcot.
