Absolutely, Hobie16! Good for you! I hate when cell phones disturb a sale, a meeting, anything that makes the cell phone user expect YOU to wait for until the call is over. It infuriates me that these self entitled people think you are at their beck and call and it is okay to put you on hold while they answer the friggen cell. I do not take my cell anywhere. As I have said before, it stays at home unless Ralphie and I are going to DL or WDW or someplace where we may split up in different directions and then have to find one another again. That is it. I don't like the durn things. And people are rude with them.

Most of the time the parents would tell them to quit(I'm just waiting and staring at them)but there was one boy with earphones in his ears that even the Dad was too clueless to stop. Everytime I asked him a question I had to "Interrupt" his game. I finally told him,"I think you should put that away when the Doctor comes, he is going to want to ask you questions." THEN the Dad says, "Oh, he will"
I guess the nurse isn't important enough to pay attention to, but the Doctor is
At the doctor's office, this is just nuts! I cannot believe that people can't put away their little electonic diversions for a doctor's appt.

That has to be the utmost in stupidity and rudeness to nurses and doctors. I would tell the parents that you cannot do the vitals until they put the *toy* away and if you cannot get the vitals then it is going to be a lot longer before the doc actually gets to see them!

I always silence my cell if I am talking to someone, and don't even look at who's calling.
I was at SeaWorld with wife and brother who was visiting, in the middle of one of the the finale of the dolphin show, when my cell went off. I silenced it. It went off again, and I looked and saw it was my dad calling. Silenced it again. About ten seconds later, my brother hands me his cell with, "It's for you."
Just about went unhinged with my dad. He was calling to see what color of something my wife liked, or something like that, that could have waited until the end of the show.
I would not have been insulted, although very embarrassed, if they had stopped the show and watched me on the phone, there in the FRONT ROW!
I hate the bloody things.

I've dealt with this with one particular attorney, a nice guy otherwise, who suddenly took a call when he and I were sitting across the desk from each other talking about a case. Worse, he had Bluetooth headset (which my kids call an "alien ear implant"), so I didn't realize immediately that he was no longer talking to me.
So... when he was done and started talking to me again, I pretended not to notice for quite a while, until he started waving to get my attention. I gave him a very frosty, "Oh, are you talking to me now?" combined with a look-that-could-kill. He actually apologized and hasn't done that since.
Fortunately, most of the time I'm dealing with idiots with cell phones I'm in court, where the phones are required to be turned off -- or the marshal will confiscate them!!! :D:

You should have said, “I was open to probation. Now it’s ten years.”

The marshal should be allowed to smash them with the butt of his Dirty Harry Special in front of the court. I bet you’d see a bunch of phones go dark fast.

I heard a story about Robert De Niro. Some years ago, he was doing a stage play in New York and someone's cellphone went off in the front rows of the audience. He got down off the stage and asked for the phone. He answered it and told them, "This is Robert De Niro, and we are in the middle of a play and you areinterupting the performance. Please wait til later to call back." He then frostily handed the phone back to the owner and went back up on stage and continued...I bet there was not one more cell phone going off during that performance! I believe it was Robert De Niro, but I may be mistaken, and it could have been Al Pacino. I always get those two confused. They are both so good and together in a film! WOW!!!!!! I'll see if I can find the story online somewhere. I heard it a few years ago... It also could very well be one of those all too common urban legends....most likely the case.

Too bad he didn't have Joe Pechi in the wings. "Is this YOUR phone?"

Now let's talk about guests with cell phones on the bus. I just love the guest who is oblivious to everything when on the phone. They talk like they are the only ones present. The other day, I had one woman who was criticising everything at Disney, and then me in particular. Seems she was soo involved with her conversation, she missed her stop at the Dolphin. This in spite of the announcement from disembodied Dave and then my own announcement. We are now at the YC and she could easily get off there and it's a very short walk back to the Dolphin, NOOOO she insists I drive her back to the Dolphin. It was all MY fault she missed her stop. Of course I tell her no, I'm sorry but you can get off here or at the BC or even BW and walk to the Dolphin, I am not going to inconvenience the rest of the guests because your phone call was more important to you than getting off at your resort. She argues with me, no I'm not budging. Finally she sits down and continues her conversation on the phone but doesn't get off.
OK with me, you are going back to DTD (but I don't tell her that) Now I had to stop at the gate at BW on the way back and pick up a bunch od DTD bound guests from a bus that had a signal 4 with the gate and a manager was there. As I'm loading those guests, I mention to the manager what happened with this woman and pointed her out. (she is still on the phone) He tells me to bring her back to DTD and inform her that she will have to take another bus to the Dolphin. Then he says, in fact, I'll tell her for you. He then gets on the bus and tells her that because she did not listen to any of the announcements, she will need to transfer at DTD. He did not cave in to her when she went off on him, and then other guests who did hear me told her to shut up and sit down.
She finally hangs up and sits down, doesn't say another word until we get back to the marketplace. Getting off the bus, she says to me, "I hope you are happy, I missed my dinner reservation." My response, "I'm sorry that you are late for dinner, perhaps next time you will pay more attention to our announcements."
What did we do before cell phones?

:dropmouth Wow, Just wow. That is really the most outrageous cell phone on a bus story I have heard. That lady should have been bitch slapped!

I just get sick of hearing the one sided very LOUD convos on busses. It is like they want everyone to hear what they are saying, and then get mad because you were eavesdropping.

They are insane, these self absorbed incessant cell phone junkies!!!! :punchbag:
Zazu: We need a smiley of a cell phone user being eradicated! and...one of those smilies of a face with blank blinking eyes, sorta like a *huh* smilie? I know where you can go steal one...Some of Board X, Y and Z have these weird smilies that are very appropo for SGs. heeheehee... I can dress in black and jump the forum fence at night and carry a few out. TeeHee! :p:

What an idiot. What did she expect, that you go to each person and inform them personally of what stop you're at? I'm glad that neither you nor your manager backed down. It is her fault for not paying attention to where she was at that she missed her dinner reservation.
Did the other bus hit the gate or a car at the gate? It sounds like he hit the gate? How does one do that? The exit gates open automatically and they only have to stop long enough for the gate to get out of the way.
