I have never heard of any restriction about a CM getting a GAC. On days when you come in through the gate using your ID as a pass (or with people using your maingate) you are a Guest, although there are certain things you must keep in your mind, such as being a SG is not allowed.CMGUY89 wrote:I being a CM and a person with a disability am faced with a dilemma. Technically CMs aren't supposed to use GAC cards but I figure I get so little time off from work that the least they could do is make my day off easier. I don't think of myself as a "faker" but with a non-apparent disability it is a lot harder to convince people of the need for the GAC card.
When I go into the parks as a Guest I am on my ECV, which I do not need/use when working. I expect to be treated as any other Guest with a disability.
I would suggest going to Guest Relations the next time you are in the park as a Guest and get yourself a GAC, explaining your needs. When they ask how long you are staying, tell them you are a CM and would like to have it for three months so you don't have to keep coming back. I know that people who are Floridians with APs who will get a GAC which is good for several months. As far as number of people in your party, I would suggest you give them a number like three or four so if you are with someone they are not restricted.
On a side note, tomorrow I am planning to go to MK and will stop in at City Hall and find out the actual rules.
