You're right, I don't know how many.

The Gillig's aren't perfect either. We did have one catch fire a month or so ago. I had 4959 tonight, one of the brand new 07 Gilligs and the WC ramp only workd manually and the drivers seat air ride didn't work. I had to keep raising the seat as it would not stay where I placed it. A royal PITA. But it did not catch fire.

Sad to say, a lot of things made in the USA have poor quality these days.

I don't know if quality has been improved, but on the old Orion II's, the engine compartment was DIRECTLY under the driver, which can be very pleasant in the winter, not so much in the summer. Espicially since the engines on those busses tended to overheat, and occasionally catch fire (although, not as often as the Nova's are rumored to do). Also, if my memory serves, the II's large front swing door had no manual override in case of emergency

And I don't know how many Novas caught fire either in their first three months. It would explain the gaps in the numbering system, though.

So, Zazu, how many DID catch fire?

I don't have a complete total for the fleet, but I do know that all ten of the first batch burned to one degree or another.

How many missing numbers are there?

The new CM shuttles here at the DLR are CNG-powered. But they're taking a really long time to roll out (they were supposed to be ready a week ago) because of fuel tank issues, so it isn't boding well for future CNG vehicles.
