I know this thread's been up awhile, but it took me this long to remember that I was "fired" by a wise-ass spoiled 8-year-old. It was over at Pirates, and he decided to wait on unload while his family went on the ride...don't know why a kid wouldn't want to go on Pirates, but this one was weird. He was screwing around with his grandmother's wheelchair, rolling into other guests as they were trying to exit and just plain blocking the dock. I was on unload, so I finally walked over to him after a few dispatch cycles and told him quite firmly to put the chair back by the fence and just sit there. Well, he got this nasty look on his face (I swear, he would have intimidated Donald Trump) and glared at me. I think we must have been in lunch rotation because I was still there when the family came back and he bounds out towards them and starts yelling at the top of his lungs "I want her fired!!!" What was a little surprising was that his mother gave him this indulgent, but still questioning look (not the first time this happenned Mom?). And the problem? "She made me sit still!!!" The kid was still having a hissy while the family exited the ride and they just kind of ignored him - I was half thinking he was one of those kids that they write all those awful t.v. shows about. You know - the overbearing midget in the trapped in the kid's body? What's sad is that there were probably 29 other normal kids plus some poor teacher stuck in a classroom on a daily basis with this brat.
getting fired
ok, I know this is a very old post, but I had to relate. I can't remember exactely why she was mad with me on the phone. At the end of the conversation she threw at me "What was your name again?" "My name is ***" "Well, ***, you better get a new job because I'm taking YOURS!!"
hahahahahahaha yeah right!

I once moonlighted at the Hilton, driving their shuttle bus, and one day I had some irritating guests that I knew were from another hotel. (They kept shouting "are we going to sit here all day" and "can we leave now" - basically acting like little kids shouting "are we there yet?") Our bus was on a schedule, so we had to wait another 5 minutes - something they wouldn't know, because the shuttle for their hotel (next door) has no schedule, and leaves immediately.
Normally I don't care if non-guests ride the bus, but these people were really irritating me; so I asked to see their room key (something we do on crowded days), proving they were not staying at the Hilton and told them to get off my bus.
They were really pissed off, and asked for my name. I looked above my head at the little sign which read "Your Driver is Dan" and said, "Ummm, my name is Dan."
"I know that smart-ass, what's your last name!?"
"Sorry, we can't give out our last names for safety reasons."
"Well I want your supervisor's name then!"
"Look, you're not staying at our hotel - I don't have to give you anything!"
"Give me your supervisors name!"
"Okay. Peter Pan, okay? His name is Peter Pan. Now get off my bus."
I can't understand why people are rude like that in the first place, but to be rude when you're basically trespassing is totally beyond me.

The first time a was "fired" by a guest was when I was working at Alien Encounter. It's a circular theatre and has three rows of seats that are stepped up from the row in front like in a stadium. Anyways it was close to the end of the load and there were a few seats scattered about the theatre. There was this party of six that could have taken three seats each on the end of an aisle and be farly close toghter. Well anyways they decided to just stand there and when I was holding up the restraints so they could sit down they just stood there. I asked them nicely to take a seat and they refused. At that point I took them out of the theatre and told them they would be on the next one. That infurated them to no extent they said that there were going to write a letter a week until I was fired for throwing them off the ride. They only had to wait a few mins until the next show began :bang:

A Guest tried to "fire" my lead once. She was bringing out cups of water for us (yeah, it's rare, and it's the only attraction that I know of where they let us drink water On Stage, but it gets so bloody hot out there) and this rabid AP went off on how that was Bad Show and some other crap about "Walt's Vision." Sometimes you can't help but worry.

Y'all should move to WDW. We can not only drink water on stage year-round, we get Company-issued water bottles to drink it out of!FebruaryStar02 wrote:IndyBob wrote:CM's are allowd to drink water on stage at any attraction if it is code 90 or higher.See, you learn something new every day.tabacco wrote:DC Canoes are allowed to have water too, I believe.
Not that I'd *mind* a more California climate, mind you....
