What was heard: You don't have to put the seatbelt on if it's too much of a hassle.
What is replied (by SG): Nah, their fine. They don't need it.
What was enforced (by CM): No, its for saftey reasons. If they want to ride the carrousel, then they MUST wear their seatbelt for the entire durration of the carrousel. If not, I will have to ask you to please exit the carrousel.
This reminds me of a story told by an old-timer from Disneyland. He wasn't a Club 55 member, but he was there before 1960.
He was working Casey Jr., and was walking the platform to check belts. Advising an older man with a gaggle of kids in the Monkey Cage to fasten their safety belts, the man said,
"It's okay, they don't have to."
A repeat of the instruction met with a repeat of the denial. So, the CM pulled out his best arguement:
"But if you folks don't wear your seat belts, what will I tell Mr. Disney if he finds out?"
The guest patiently replied,
"I am Mr. Disney, and it really is okay."
The CM then gave the guest a closer look, did a double-take, then muttered,
"Hell if you ain't!" and gave the All Aboard.
Just when you think you've seen everything.... :locomotiv

That's awesome! Any opinion on how valid the story is?

Love this story Zazu! Thanks. :) I'll bet Walt was fine with the CM who was following his training. My Mama worked for Walt a few times per yr. for 10 yrs. & always said he was so easy to get along with & very agreeable.

What surprises me is that Mr. Disney didn't enforce the safety aspect, that the CM said they needed to wear them and he refused. I know if I ever got a suit on a ride that refused to use a saftey harness if required, I'd make sure they used it.
... Now if only we could get a suit to go on Pan... Maybe we'd get some changes there...

I buy it.
The CM in question was a teacher who worked in the classroom next to my father's. He worked at the Park every Summer, and enlivened the faculty lounge all year with "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" stories.
If only my dad had been half so cool, but NOOOO, he wanted to actually earn money during his annual layoff!

Thank you! I needed a laugh after looking for parking on campus for the past 45 minutes (their having some special event here today and out of the 4 small parking garages [already packed with 4 students per parking space] one is being taken over by event parking...grumble grummble  )
Though I don't think Eisner would ever be caught dead (or alive) in the parks when it wasnt some kind of huge press event, and even then I doubt he'd go on an attraction (unless the event was for the attraction).

WHAT THE DEMS ARE SAYING:
Pelosi praised "the beauty and genius of our democracy," and thanked voters for giving Democrats the chance to lead.
"Democrats pledge civility and bipartisanship in conduct of the work here," she said, calling for "partnerships … not partisanship."
WHAT THE DEMS ARE THINKING:
MARSELLUS: Step aside, Butch.
Butch steps aside, revealing Marsellus standing behind him, holding a pump-action shotgun. KABOOM!!!!
Zed is blasted in the groin. Down he goes, screaming in agony. Marsellus, looking down at his whimpering rapist, ejects the used shotgun shell.
BUTCH: You okay?
MARSELLUS: Naw man. I'm pretty fuckin' far from okay.
BUTCH: What now?
MARSELLUS: What now? Well let me tell you what now. I'm gonna call a couple pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. (to Zed) You hear me talkin' hillbilly boy?! I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'm gonna git medieval on your ass!
