Most of what I've observed over at Studios has been positive. Can't really think of any negatives that I've seen so far. Most of the guests that I've talked to that have "won" something (ears, lanyard, or fastpass mostly) thought it was really cool.

Wonder how those sitting around would feel if they knew that just about every winner I've talked to and asked told me they were selected on a ride or at the exit of the ride.

Did get one interesting thing yesterday. Was walking by one CM at the Poly looking at pins (yea, I'm pitiful, but at least I'm polite about it), and found one of the million dreams pins from the prize lanyard on the cast lanyard. Couldn't believe that someone had traded it away. So it's mine now.

What do you mean you won't smile for the camera?

Well from what I've heard a few of the stuff Dream Squad is doing at attraction exits might be dropped because people dont seem to like them. Most of the time everyone is so concerned with getting to the next ride that they dont want to be held up at the exit.

Plus, that would have to suck if you just exited a fastpass attraction after waiting in the standby line only to win the dream fastpass.

BTW, anyone know what would happen is someone won the dream fastpass an hour or two before park closing? Their only valid on the day issued right?

A NIGHTMARE! Out of fear of outing myself on how it affected me (and don't ask me for details) the new promotion SUCKS!

So far all I have gotten from the supposed "backstage magic" is pizza and soda. I have a feeling the cast member "dreams" are few and far between.

S.G. "So if we asked for it, could we get a Magical Moment?"

T.G. (looking somewhat abashed) "I don't think it would be a real Magical Moment if it weren't spontaneous..."

I'm sure that the same sort of greedy thinking is going to be behind any cornering of Dream Squad members for the next year: "I want MY dream to come true. I want the --- prize I read about NOW!"
You hit the nail on the head. The key word is SPONTANEOUS  . It is interesting to see some guests "shadow" a Dream Squad member. I guess that the SG's have not figured out yet that not all DS members are giving out prizes. They find you, you don't find them. For the most part the guests are quite nice and enjoy the attention that ALL CM's, including Dream Squad teams are giving to their children. This is what Walt wanted to happen and we are getting back to our roots. Just call me a die hard Disney Maniac :D:

Ironically, almost all the "Magical Moments" I know of are scheduled several times daily and are scripted. The only spontaneous moment is selecting the guest who participates.

According to the Official Rules, prizes are only awarded between the hours of 9am and 5pm. I imagine the Dream Fastpasses are awarded earlier in the day, and the Dream Ears and Dream Lanyards are awarded later.

You got Pizza? Lucky...

I think I read in Eyes and Ears that ONE CM a MONTH will win something "big" -- including trips to DLP and HKD, a night in Cinderella's Castle or Mickey's Penthouse, Cruises, etc. Each month the prize for the next month will be announced.

Just like ODV CMs. :D: Free is free! As long as sodas aren't charged to my Partners ATM, life is good. ]

OK. here's my idea of YoMD. Mr.Iger proclaims " All CMs get $2.00/hr raise". Granted after taxes it wouldn't much, but a step in the right direction.
