LOL. I remember once when I was about 7 or something and I was with my mom at DL and we saw Smee. Well my mom never really knew what his name was, although she'd recognized him as a character. He wrote his name in my book but not extremely legibly, and she thought it said snee. She said to him, "Oh you're Snee?" He shook his head and pointed to his signature, as I said, "No mom, It's Smee." Then she said, "oh, ok, hi Snee!" (just kidding by this time.) To this, he replyed by very vigourously shaking his head and tapping the page that had his name. My mom kept coming up with various ways of calling him "Snee" which went on for awhile, and by like the 5th or 6th time, he was practically stabbing the page with his autograph and frantically motioning for me to pronounce "SMEE" to her. lol. That was really funny and memorable for me.

Ok so I'm new to this place but I had a question about character autographs. The one I've always wanted was Mary Poppins but she never seems to be out when I walk the park. I understand some characters are used sparingly and I would like to know if she is one of those characters. Thank you all in advance.

Yeah, she's usually on Main st. or Fantasyland.

I am sure all cast members are seeing a return of the grabbers and rude guests this memorial weekend!! Being on set in Toontown yesterday was absolute mayhem.. characters couldn't walk more than 10 feet without people getting violent and latching themselves on... and these are the parents, not the kids!

Lucky me, I got to spend 8 hours today at the Main Street Pin Cart where the big seller by far was our favorite autograph books! If one more guest waved a book in my face asking how much, I was going to #$&%@&# and then #@%&*$!. When a guest buys a book I always ask if they have a pen because the characters do not carry pens. When asked why they don't I reply the characters don't have pockets. I would love to ask where the guest suggests the characters put the pen when they're not signing autographs. Insert :D: your own answer here!!!

My daughter, who is 20 months old, just loves the characters. She'll go up and hug and kiss any character she sees (so long as it's not a face character - for some reason she doesn't care for the girls in the pretty dresses!). She'll just walk right up on her own, and throw her arms around them, then "dance" (actually just moving her bottom up and down) and usually all the guests around us just saw, "AWWWWW!"

Someday I know, we'll get her an autograph book, but I hope she'll never let go of the idea that it's that interaction - the hug or kiss - that really means something.

Oh, and she's also learned to do the character, "pop" kissing noise when she gets kissed.

I remember one set years ago, when I was Capt Hook. I was easily recognized (just brandish the Hook!), but most people didn't know Smee. Somehow he spelled it out with his fingers (no one had an autograph book), and the first person who "got it" said - "Oh, he's saying, 'Its ME!'".

Yeah, right Einstein!

Just got home about an hour ago from our trip to DLP. Saw lots of autograph books everywhere. One great bit was while I was waiting in line to have Aurora take a picture with the poster for my friend, her escort, Michael, was demonstrating the right and wrong ways to ask for an autograph.
