You'll have to do the submarine.

A few years ago the Carthiginian, an old boat tied up in the harbor, had just about rusted through the hull. It was stripped and towed to the south end of town where it was scuttled.

A friend of our is a pro underwater photographer. He shot this yesterday. The Atlantis submarine is in the background. This is about 100 feet down.

Turns out it's our friend in the picture. He had his dog take the shot.

I was wondering, you know those songs in the Enchanted Tiki Room that are sung in Hawaiian by the plants, masks, etc.? Is there a resource for the English translation of the song lyrics? I haven't been to DLR in ages,so of course I'm referring to the original, but one time I caught the words Awea, awea sung by the orchids, and when I checked a Hawaiian dictionary, I learned Awea means Alas! From the tone of the songs, I'm guessing it goes from a peaceful song to a war chant or story of an epic battle. I'd appreciate any help. Hope to make it up there some day. But my rent is going up Nov. 1st, and my wages are the same. We'll see.

In the tropics, stuff grows big without much help. See a tree you like? Cut off a twig, stick it in the ground and it won't be long before you have another tree.

The same goes for bugs growing big except you don't have to stick them in the ground. Case in point. I woke up last night with a sharp pain in the tip of my social finger. The pain got progressively worse. My wife woke up and when I told her why I was moaning she asked if I might have been bitten by a centipede.

We tore the bed apart and when we pulled the mattress back out crawled a eight inch long finger bitter. Shades of Indiana Jones!

My wife was prepared with her anti centipede kit. She shot it with Raid, watched it do the zambo oogie for a bit, picked it up with her centipede tongs, and flushed it down the toilet.

Meanwhile, my finger had swollen up and was hurting like a sumbitch. All that can be done is take some Advil and wait 24 hours for the pain to go away. It's now almost twelve hours later and it's still throbbing. Ouch!

Just so you know...in one post you came up with 100 reasons not to live there. Thank you, one hardly ever sees that kind of efficiency anymore.

My wife's first experience with centipedes was one of the kids asking, "What's that thing crawling next to the patio?"

She grabbed the nearest tool of destruction, which happened to be my newly sharpened machete I used to take down banana trees, and started wailing on the 'pede. Unfortunately, the 'pead was crawling across some crushed coral.

In the end the bug was dead and so was my machete.

I admire your resolve and dedication to SGT by the fact that you choose to overcome that finger and continue typing to us.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I think the dog typed it out for him while he spoke.
