I had a blond in class from the DC area. She and her husband owned a really fast boat that they ran on Chesapeake Bay. She complained that they were always getting stopped by the Coast Guard for safety checks. I told her hot looking blond + hot boat + young testosterone fueled Coasties = SAFETY CHECK!!

She got a astonished look on her face and said, "Noooooooooooooo!!!"

I said, "Yeeeeeeessssssss!!"

She called her husband. :D:

You are correct, and I agree that Wall-E is a fine movie, guess I was just feeling devlish (and my own son told me that "Directive" was also missing from my script assessment ;) )

...Seriously though, I agree with you that's a script I could skip. Now, as a wannabe writer all my life, I'd love to have the Monsters Inc. script but I think I know it by heart already LOL

It doesn't bother me either way if you skip the script, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I wasn't sure what to expect because there is so little dialogue in the movie. But the script reminded me that there IS dialogue -- it's just mostly wordless.

The script is very clear about what is being communicated even when nothing is being said. It often uses the device of writing out what the robots "say," but putting the line in [brackets] to show that it's being "spoken" with beeps, noises, body movement and facial expressions. Pretty cool.

About 20 years ago, I was a security guard with Wells Fargo. More than once on a night shift which had me watching sidewalk sale merchandise in front of a store, I'd have grinning CHiPs coming by to say hello, or offer to get me coffee. Apparently word got around that a "see-cutie" guard was posted in the area, and they came for a look-see. Of course, aside from being much younger, I was also alot lighter, though still overweight. I was always polite to them, but I was thinking, "CHiPs'll look at anything." :D:

we showed up at my dad's, Wall-e in hand, along with a four course dinner from a wonderful local restaurant and real half and half for the coffee (my mother waters everything down ...

...and we didn't watch it :(

My mother decided that no more Disney movies are allowed to be shown in their house. She says they're evil because they have 'magic' in them and she wouldn't have it in 'her' house.

I asked my Dad if he wanted to watch it anyway (on another tv, let her go into her room and read her bible magazines...etc...) and he said no.

So I took my evil devil movie out the door- didn't stay for dessert, and cried all the way home.

I saved it all week to watch it with him. Now he can't come over here to watch it, I can't watch it with him there, oh, and she's not letting us take him out to brunch on Thanksgiving, either.

So much for our big movie date we've waited all these months for...he let her just mow me and the whole thing over.

back on topic, did you see that TRU online doesn't have any more Ultimates and the price on Disneyshopping is 289.99 plus 15 in 'special handling' above the shipping??? That means that I got mine for almost HALF.

I can't believe it. I love him even though I haven't played with him much cause he's so freakin noisy. He's just so cute I promise I will try to post some pics soon.

In other news, almost all of the Wall E stuff on the disney shopping site is out of stock including the ornament! Shoot! was right after I said they had it the other day LOL that's okay I have so many action figures I could do up a whole tree in them if I wanted to no sense in buying another one.

I am eyeing the calendar though that they have on Amazon! would work great in my monorail kitchen...

Yeah, I agree. Do NOT engage mom. You will have a chance to get your dad over for a viewing of Wall-e. I got the calendar at Borders. It is cute.

Mom asked my why I tucked my dog into bed at night. I said it is not the warmth of the blanket but the act of being tucked in.

Bru, your father saw the act of movie night and knew what was in your heart. It did not matter if you got to see the movie but the mere act of offering him dinner and a movie counted.

He could not watch the movie. Do you know what it is like to be dependent on someone? He has lived with her long enough to just let her have her way. Savour the moments with him and work around mother. She will not give in and fighting her will make a fun time go sour. He saw how much you love him. You are a good daughter and your act was enough.

Churchy, that sounds like excellent advice. You have lived with someone like Bru's mother for a long time and I'm sure you have first-hand knowledge on how to deal with a controlling person like that, even if it doesn't always work out the way you wish it would. Hugs to you, and Bru.
