Thanks Zazu...
Here's another grocery story...
At the supermarket one day, and I turn into the drinks isle and 2 people (husband & wife I assume) are pulling out cases of Canada Dry (Ginger Ale)off the shelf. At this point their kart is nearly full of them by now about 7 or so cases of the same thing) so, I hurry over since that was one of the things I was getting from that isle and look in the shelf and there are 2 or 3 cases left at the far back, so I grab one and put it in my kart. I turn my head to look at the opposite side of the isle and turn back in time to see the wife grab the case I put into my kart and move it to her kart
So I approach her and ask what she's doing to which she replies that soda was hers.... Me: "what's your name?" She looks at me puzzled and says "Heidi" So I reach into her kart grab the case of soda and start examaning it (this nets me a wide eyed half suprised half puzzled look) I pipe up and announce "AH! Just as I thought... I don't see your name on here anywhere! It was on the shelf what made you think it was YOURS? Did you pre pay them?" No words, no movement from her or her husband they just stood there stunned. So I put the sda case back into my kart and went on my merry way. Yes I am sarcastic and I'll even go as far as to say that some people bring out the b!tch in me. But common now... there were about 10 cases of soda on that shelf and I grabbed one. They got the other 8 or 9.

Maybe she thought it was German Dry.

From watching the video, there doesn't appear to be any triangulation support pieces where the poles meet the roof which indicates all lateral loads were to be done by the pole to roof beam interface.
So...hobie...is it safe to say that you're an engineer??? ;) That was some fierce engineer-speak (I'm the daughter of an engineer), but I can counter with some pretty fierce legalese of my own! :p:

What selfish people! Was there a sale on them? I remember reading something about a woman who read in her newspaper that at ther local store laundry detergent was 6 boxes for so much--a sale price. So she goes to the store, buys six boxes of detergent, puts them in her car, goes back into the store, and does the same thing. After she'd gotten two or three loads, she noticed people were looking at her funny. She brushed it off, and went in for the fourth time. A manager asked her what she was doing, and she coldly replied she was getting her laundry detergent that was on sale. Finally, as she's paying for the sixth load--36 boxes of detergent, the manager again confronts her and tries to tell her there's a limit of six boxes. She got highly upset, insisting she was getting her six boxes. I don't know if this actually happened, if I remember right it was an example of reading the fine print--it did say the woman read the limit of six boxes in the ad--and pointed out that this would be like if a hostess had only enough dessert for her guests if all took only one piece, then somebody goes and takes five pieces. You need to honor limits. That's what I recall, anyway. But it seems like these people did something similar--thought that if soda was $X for so many, they could take all they wanted. Some people need to have their brains re-wired and reset to normal.

Hee hee...this reminds me of my method of buying cat litter. Mr. Syndrome and I get it at Target where it is cheapest, but we rarely go there because it's out of our way. Thus we wait till we're almost out and then literally clean 'em out of the two brands we use (they only have maybe 6 jugs of each on the shelf). He said, "There's probably some poor slob whose luck it is to always come in after one of our visits and who then curses us for emptying the shelf."

Syndrome, it's on the shelf and as long as there isn't a limit on them as feline said... well then it's yours for the taking. I doubt however, that you or your hubby would litterally take a jug outta someone's cart cause you feel a sense of entitlement to them. :)
I got another pet peeve today, I think Canuikstan posted this one somewhere, but it really grossed me out to see trailer trash barbie and her 3 or 4 kids going to the local theme park pool in the most soiled clothes they could find to swim in. That is just plain old NASTY. It's one thing to take a bar of soap and shampoo and shower in their change rooms after a day at the pool. But to take your dirty kids for a bath in a pool at the local theme park?

I worked at a grocery store for a while, and if it was a no limit, and still on the shelf, it was free game. If someone took all of them, I could care less. I still had to re-order the product and make sure it got stocked. What amazed me were the coupon ladies. They could come in when we were running double or triple coupons, and walk about with a negative balance. One actually expected the money. I was like "Lady, we're not going to pay you to shop here." I did feel sorry for their family, most of the items they got were boxes of cereal. They'd get like 6-7 boxes of the same thing. I don't care if it is free or not, there is a limit on how much cereal you can feed your family!
Gruvgirl, ease up, you know it probably took her all year to save up the money to head to the local water hole for their yearly bath ;)

Pretty much. I always had good relationships with the legal department. I could explain what the product did so they could defend us in court.

Good for you!! The nerve of that woman. I can't believe she actually took it from your cart!
