Thank you so very much hobie for posting Cesar's picture on his birthday. Cesar Chavez is my Hero!! Have admired him since I was 12 years old. Cesar was my inspiration. I used to sneak out my bedroom window at night to go hear him speak in Delano. The first ranch Cesar Chavez struck was our family's ranch in Delano. There were a number of interesting responses to Google honoring Cesar Chavez on his birthday. The best was the whack job who thought it was a socialist plot to honor Hugo Chavez, the now deceased president of Venezuela.

I'm active on the Gmail support forum and there has been a bunch of complaints posted about having a Cesar Chavez Doodle instead of an Easter Doodle. Yeah, I heard about that on the news last night. Like it was his fault that this year his birthday just happened to fall on Easter? And they also said Google hasn't done an Easter doodle in years.

Google tends to avoid religious Doodles. As they are a multinational company with employees and users of all religions and creeds that's the best course of action in my opinion. If the do religious Doodles people complain and if they don't do them people complain.
