I'd like to thank Bru and everyone else for their care and understanding at this time. Yes, silent tribute is the best thing you can do. We can feel it when somebody is being respectfully quiet, and we are grateful even if we don't say it. For the guests reading this, I'm not saying that you should be sad or anything, if you come to the park do enjoy yourself as that is pretty much what all of this is about.
But please don't ask about the incident, especially if the CM is wearing a ribbon. Some Monorail CMs understand your curiosity, some will tolerate it, and many will get offended. As for non-Monorail fellow CMs, remember that it's the same deal for you. A few seem to get more offended when a CM asks than when a guest does. I can understand why you would ask and I don't mind talking about it (to a certain extent), but remember that we are not allowed to discuss any specifics about the incident.
One other thing for everyone to remember is that in addition to the obvious, we are down two Monorails. That makes running the whole system that much harder, so we've got more delays and bigger gaps between trains. And that's when they all behave, it's worse when one of them decides that it wants to be problematic. So if anybody reading this has reservations, or is asked about travel time, please include 5 to 10 extra minutes to get where you need to go. The fewer people we have making a last minute dash for their seat at Chef Mickey's the better it is for everyone.

:D: Exactly. I'm glad that the coverage is dying down, you guys wouldn't believe the questions we've been getting. And I'm sure somebody else has been getting dumber questions than we have... so the less it is broadcast about, the less people will ask about it. I hope.

Getting back to the Monorail Incident, I haven't heard anything via the media lately on it. Things seem to have died down? Then again, I'm all the way up here in CT...most of the time looking at the Sentinel. I noticed that it's starting to take the back seat under "Hot Topics"
Security has gotten better at fishing them out of the bushes...and trees...and unmarked cars....and identifying professional cameras at 1000 yards...and....
You get the idea.
There needs to be a special place in hell for these ghouls.
I think the gag order helped a lot too though. :p:

I just have to say...you guys are pretty amazing if you can run the system 2 trains down, and you're only asking for an extra 5-10min.
But unfortunately, there will always be thoes SG's out there that can't even give you guys that extra 10min, in addition to the normal SG issues
Anyway...I'll be down in the World in September, and I hope to get to meet as many of the SGT pilots as I can, as well as all the other SGT CM's on this board! :D:

Allears has posted a nicely written tribute, but what really caught my eye was the photo collage created by one of their readers.
:WARNING:
The collage is beautifully done and I found it to be quite moving. It does contain a photo of Austin. CMs, especially monorail, may wish to stay away.

Thank you so very much for posting this Stripes. A Forever tribute to Austin. It is simply amazing! Beautifully awesome! Very difficult to view when one is a CM, even at DLR. Pain still runs deep in our souls for all CMs at WDW.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. That collage speaks out in may ways while remaining silent. I personally know several monorail pilots, present and former and my heart aches for them. I sit here with tears in my eyes after seeing that picture, but it tells a very powerful story about Austin, Disney and all of our fellow cast members. Thank you Stripes for the thread and thank you Bru for requesting that we out of respect for Austin, remain silent.

No surprise what-so-ever. To be honest I'd be surprised if there aren't more lawsuits brought against the company.

You are kind, Yeti, but for the record I only echoed others' sentiments about respectful silence- Syndrome and Stripes said it first.
I'm still reeling from the whole experience of being in the company of the bravery that is being shown by the Monorail Ops folks. As hours since returning have turned to days, I am only more in awe of it.
I also wanted to just say- that though I have chosen not to talk about the trip out of respect for the CMs (and honestly out of fear of saying too much or the wrong thing too) that if any cms are here lurking or posting who met me over the weekend and want to mention it here I have no problem with that at all.
You guys say what you need to. I will remain as I am, respectfully silent but you all know where to find me if you need me.
hugs to all
bru

I went to MK for the first time today since the incident, and had a hard time getting back on a monorail. It must have been really hard for the pilots to get back out there and work. It is also stupid that they are not allowed to wear the ribbons on their costumes.
