Y'all should be proud of me

Someone on evil board x is coming from the UK and wanted to give out treat bags filled with tins of chocolates. A poster suggested cash...well I am sure it would be welcome ...here is my response
If I remember right, certain positions of CM's are not allowed to accept cash as a thank you. They can lose their job for it. I think Mousekeeping and waitstaff are pretty much the only ones who are allowed.
Food items, while a nice idea are not really a good option either. You dont know if that person has an allergy or something, not to mention the chocolates are seriously not a good idea in the FLORIDA HEAT! Like the above, certain positions are not allowed to accept them either due to health code violations (depending on where they are)
Your best bet, Dont worry about the bags of items that you have to schlep around the park with you. Print out some cute thank you cards with your name and where you are from in business card size and hand them out. We do this and they love them because it is something tangible that they can keep , small enuf to put in their pocket, and even show to others.
Even better then that, for those CM's that you feel deserve something....Get their name, the area they were in and the time and day and go to Guest Services and ask for a compliment card to fill out. Those go in their file and are one of the ways they qualify for raises and such. That will go much further as a way of thanking them then any object ever could.
On a side note...the kids love to give the characters things like drawings and even silly things like a leaf from the ground (yes my DD did give Mickey some) and from talking with a few "friends" of characters they like to get them from the kids. Just be forewarned that they will hand them over to their escorts to hold onto until their shift onstage is over.
Have a great trip and just go enjoy yourself. And remember a smile and a verbal thank you goes a long way with some of the CM's.(characters too) You would be surprised how many ppl think they are part of the scenery. Acknowledge they are doing a good job, it will make their day.
Hopefully another SG prevented..UGG...can you imagine the mess of chocolates in Orlando's temps.? yeesh.
