Stupid Guest Tricks

It's going to be a freakin' zoo here in Celebration. I just got word that the news vans are here already.

I'm sorry I didn't get my PM in time to get my name on the card, as I have not been on here in a few days. But, I have thought about Austin and his family (both blood-related and CM families) a lot these past few days.

I have a question for all of you CM's and past CM's (don't worry, not about what happened). I will be at WDW in just a couple of weeks on my family vacation. Of course, we will ride the monorails a few times. Would it be appropriate for me to say anything to the CM's, to let them know that they are in our thoughts? If you are, or were, a monorail CM, what would you want a guest to say to you? I would feel bad ignoring it as if it never happened. But on the flip side, I don't want to say anything that would make them feel worse, especially when they are on stage. Any thoughts and insight anyone can offer?

I'm not a CM, but what I plan to do in the foreseeable future is to not say anything but to wear my monorail pilot wings with the purple monorail/black ribbon logo attached as a little silent tribute.

Syndrome has the best idea...silent tribute.

I wanted to do something too for the CMs, but after reading BW's post (#6) decided the best thing I personally could do was try to get others to honor his and their wishes.

Emotions are still raw and, I have to believe that between the SGs, the SM (stupid media) that there hasn't even been time for many of the CMs to even grieve.

I am also wearing a silent tribute, saying a lot of prayers, shedding a lot of tears and other than that keeping quiet.

I have been wearing my Mono Purple pin since the day after word broke of this terrible incident. I completly agree that a 'silent tribute' of this type would probably be best at this time. I will wear this when next i am in the Parks as well. I feel it's a must.

I cannot begin to describe how this has effected me on a emotional level. I did not know Austin personally, but completely felt like he was my brother when i saw the carnage splashed over the internet ( and news media). I have been a mess this past week thinking over all the possible explanations and theories. My heart truly goes out to Austin and his folks..and to EVERYONE there On Property who is dealing with their own demons right now.

I am saddened to hear about the media being present at the vigil. I can understand their interest, but in this case i feel it was a intrusion. I hope all went well tonight. I was definately there in spirit..as i am up in the Northeastern US at the moment.

I am still so sad about this...much more then i thought i would be.

Thank you for linking that post, as I had not seen it. It says all that I need to know, and with the utmost respect for BW and all of the monorail CM's, I will not say anything to any of them about it.

NCDM, you can send Austin's Family a card via snail. Address is posted on SGT front page. Bru included my SN on the card she sent, yet I still felt I needed to do more. I dropped my card to the family in post box at the exact time the vigil was to begin. Seemed so overwhelming. Cried before and after.

This may have been already stated somewhere else, but I can't find it right now. Where and how can I get one of those monorail pins to wear?

Just as a heads up...one year I wore my wings on my pin lanyard and a pilot told me that if a manager saw me with them I could have them confiscated.
