Just an FYI, this site runs on a Linux server. Quite a few websites run some flavor of Linux because it is much more secure than Windows. Quite often security flaws in Linux are discovered and fixed before they can be exploited by crackers while in Windows the opposite occurs, most often the flaws are discovered because a cracker exploited them and they are fixed sometime later.

If Linux was programmed by a "bunch of high school kids" do you think it would the OS of choice for servers, mainframes, super computers, etc.? The Android system, used by a large number of cell phones and other mobile devices is Linux based. As of February 2012 there were over 300 million Android devices in use with over 850,000 activated DAILY. (source)

Google's servers run on a customized version of Linux (source) and another customized version of Linux is used internally by their employees (source). Google only happens to be the largest search engine in the world!

This survey shows that most Linux users are between the ages 30 and 39 and the second largest groups to be between 20 and 29. Teenagers make up the second smallest group (70+ being the smallest). (source) High schoolers? Not for the most part.

Care to continue saying Linux is written by a bunch of high-schoolers and nor real programmers?

No system is completely secure, some are just more secure than others.

I guess this one is on the fast track to being locked. No loss, if trying to play by the rules puts me on a high horse, so be it. The world will always have scam artists and freeloaders. As long as folks like Mr D are around, prices will continue to go up in part from them scaming. He seems to be able to sleep at night, good for him.
