Official SGT ADD thread

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

You sound like me with books! Gotta have em. Oh man, you better not ever move again. We are going to move to a rental in Florida if need be to check out the lay of the land and take only what we need, the rest goes into storage til we buy the last house we'll ever buy! Your stuff sounds like mine.Zazu wrote:Yeah, that's one of the things I miss about LA: Acres of Books in Long Beach. It's almost the only reason I've *ever* been to that town. The one other time was the last day of operation of the Pacific Electric. Rode the last of the Big Red Cars downtown just to have lunch at Chason's, and to say that I did.
Tell me about it! Moving to Tennessee we shipped 120 boxes of books. Moving to Florida I rented a truck and made three trips. Not sure I *dare* move again.
And of course, now I'm in charge of a library that's in storage. Somebody else moved it it, but I get to move out about 800 1.5' boxes, sixteen file cabinets, a 5' tall stack of map drawers, and a marble statue of Caesar Augustus that's taller than I am, plus a museum collection about the same size... once we find a place and the money to buy it. <sigh> So much for retirement!
I have two life size Mermaid lamps in my Master bedroom, Ralph has a million lb file cabinet with all the paperwork he ever needs(hehehe) and I have a collection of Disney memorabilia that would fill at least 3 BIG rooms. We have a 6100 sq ft house here and every inch is covered, AND we still have enough stuff in storage to furnish another whole house. I wanted to have a yard sale before the Stager packed everything, but she beat me to the boxes. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....Now I have to either break out all the boxes and unpack them and have a sale here, or wait til we move and then go through the unpacking of ALL boxes and put all the yard sale stuff in a storage facility. There is so much I wanted to get rid of, and you know the movers charge by weight, so I do did not want to take all that stuff with us and pay more for moving it. That stager made my life miserable. I wanted to get rid of all that stuff so badly and it sits in a storage unit costing us a LOT each month. It is at the mover's storage facility. Oh well, we will get rid iof most of the stuff or donate it to hurricane victim charities. Either way, it is going to find new homes. Yeah, retirement....Moving again and trying to unload a shitload of stuff....Retirement is turning out to be too much work...LOL!

Wow...I dont throughly look thru threads for a few days and it goes crazy around here. YEESH! Must be something in the air. Evil board X is snarkyness times 12 this week, and in IRL it has been cranky ppl all around.
Is there a full moon or something. Everyone take a deep breath
Read the unhappy thread and I saw Kennywood mentioned...LOL, was thinking about going there next week. Been a while since we made a trip down and thot it would be good for Meghyn to see a different type of park. They definatley get a rougher type of clientale there and are a lot stricter on rules and such. I am getting spoiled at WDW. :D:

Warning: Breaking a finger hurts more than you'd think.
On the bright side, they do give you narcotics for that.

Well that will teach you to put them where they don't belong!!
I do feel for you. The only thing that I have every broken (besides wenches hearts!) is a finger. Got it slammed in a door, totally by accident. Hurt like the dickens! Couldn't have pain killers due to work situation, other than OTC stuff!

If you don't mind being rendered stupid, go for the opiates. I had to take vicodin twice. Once for a tee beating me up and for hitting a wet spot while biking and breaking every rib on one side. That stuff sucks!Mayonnaise wrote:On the bright side, they do give you narcotics for that.
And the stupid condition doesn't take into account what it does to your lower tract. Have you ever had a cement plug in your butt?

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
When you say opiates do you mean the Vicodin or sommat else? They gave me Lortab, which is the same thing basically. They're different brand names of hydrocodone/acetaminophen pills. Hydrocodone being an opioid derived of opiates, so I'm not sure if you mean that or if you mean hydrocodones suck so I should have asked for opiates. They did not warn me anything about but plugs!
