One of their first questions was "Do you work here?". I had to reply "I like to think that I do." I went ahead and told them where Prime Time was and when Fantasmic was going to be.
I get that all the time when I have my red badge on. Not sure why, since my whole family wears them, plus I'm 6'5", over 300 lbs, and have non-Disney facial hair. (And this past trip I was also proudly wearing a Stupid Guest Tricks button just below my name badge -- definitely not standard issue for CMs!)
The evil side of me sometimes wants to have a little fun at the expense of the ignorant -- maybe by handing out really wrong info or a sarcastic answer -- but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it, not wanting to spoil someone else's magic or tarnish real CM's reputation. But it sure is tempting!

I wish I knew what I was doing wrong....
ROFLMAO!!!!! Oh, GOD!! That happens to me constantly, at Wal*Mart!! Never, NEVER happened when I *actually* worked at the MK or at KBF, but every time I go to Wal*Mart it happens... why? I have made sure, also that when I go to a local restaurant here in town not to wear black and white, the uniform colors, because if I go to the bathroom or take my daughter to play the games or buy something from the sticker or candy machine, I will get all kinds of requests from other customers on my way back to my table!! ARRRRRRGHHH!! At least I can handle it gracefully, I usually say, "Certainly, be right back with that." Or if it a problem with their order I tell them Im not their sections server, but I will send theirs right over... LOL... thank goodness I've grown up going there and my dad's best friend owns it.

Are you serious??
New hires possibly. A CM ID is always required for discounts unless you are known to CM in merch. behind cashwrap I "assumed" we all asked for ID. What did you receive - A or B discount? ]

Yup. In the park, pieces of eight. In Downtown Disney, Compass books, the candy store and a couple of others I can't think of right now. Don't know what type of discount it was, but apparently that shirt is extremely similar to custodial's (according to a CM over at DLH), if that gives any indication.
