Pretty standard meal. It was at the outlaws this year. Nice enough folk, just not where I want to spend 6-8 hours. We brought a smiled turkey that was wonderful. The wife did cheesy potatoes, (funeral as they are called around here) and Apple crisp that was amazing. There ewe other pies that I tried, as well as stuffing that was great. All in all, the meal was wonderful, and I found the few people I like to visit with and stayed close to them. The fresh cranberry relish was good enough to eat by itself, which I did.

We actually did two -- one on Thanksgiving Day proper and one on Friday. Both were pretty traditional. My wife's family (Lithuanian roots) always does a noodle and sausage stuffing rather than a bread stuffing, so we look forward to that at Thanksgiving. We also made one of my favortie pies, a Pear Custard pie, so that was great, too. After that, turkey, corn cassarole, potatoes ( Sweet and russet), breaded brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce and relish -- the usual.

I had a strip steak, mrs. ktulu had a puffed pastry filled with shrimp and scallops. Delicious cupcake with a pumpkin mousse filling, maple icing, and a chocolate covered bacon garnish. We followed it up with fireworks and more desserts. Great day!

At church yesterday we had a Thanksgiving Leftovers potluck. Saved me from having to pack a lunch! Still kind of miss having a turkey sandwich for a few days after, or making turkey soup, but sometimes it's okay to break out of a rut.

I requested to work Thanksgiving. Submitted my request 3 times as I knew they would deny me, DL hates to pay double holiday pay. My dept had a potluck on back patio - as usual. The Inn Between had a good Thanksgiving dinner....except they ran out of mashed potatoes just before I had dinner. I mean running out of mashed potatoes by 1900 on Thanksgiving is sacrilegious, or it should be. Yet, the story of my life.

When I get back to DL we're going to Story Teller's again. They'll have a pile of mashed potatoes.

hobie,
I would LOVE Story Tellers with you again! Mashed potatoes, you, Disneymom and, how about ktulu too? You and ktulu would get along even better than mashed potatoes and butter.
