The water maybe icky, but I remember in the late 80's they had lumber jacks on the ROA having log rolling competition every day! They swam in it, and didnt seem to be flinching about the yuckiness factor.

I only know a few people who have fallen into the book water. And then there was the time during the 4:15 parade when some drunk guy threw something on the other side of the canal ( by the storybookland plants) then he jumped in and swam across the canal. It was funny once they got him back to the dock he was escorted out of the park.

i need to get a bacteria test kit and se how bad that water really is, when i went on vacation the water i was in was pretty much the same color, only you could see deeper into it, and was really only gross when you moved the plants around (the plants are nature's filter so all kinds of nasty stuff get on it) and that had like 43 kinds of bacteria in it, and i went swimming and bathing in daily, and didn't have a single problem (besides getting swimmer's ear, which you can get from a swimming pool) i'm willing to bet that the water is faily safe, at least if you were to fall into it, and try not to drink to much of it.

Oh I'm sure it's safe to go into if you don't mind coming out with leaches on you. But as for the dumb people who intentionally put it in their mouths... it's just wrong. My friend who fell in accedentilly swallowed some water and ended up with a very, very, very bad case of indegestion.

1901 ft divided by 3 is 633.6667 yards. That's easy. Who's ready for the newest olympic event?! The green water swim.Thatguy wrote:well, there is a total of 1901' of track in the jungle, so it'd be a little less than that

These are the rafts TO the island. Not AROUND, not OVER, not UNDER and not THROUGH. Thank you for riding T. Saywer's shuttle service please visit again.

Followed closely by the colored dye. Many folks get a bad allergic reaction to it, which is why there's a safety shower at the maintenance dock.GMC wrote:yea the leeches are probly the biggest health risk.
OTOH, the track switch in RoA to send the riverboat backstage is manual -- some poor sot has to get into scuba gear and swim down each time the boat comes or goes. Go figure!

Thanks to some stupid foreign be-atch, I slipped on my boat at Book and my left leg went into the water and got caught between the boat and the dock. The nurse at CFA cleaned me up, but we didn't think about my shoe. This happened in 1991. Since then, I have had the worst case of "jungle rot" for lack of a better term, on the bottom of my left foot, and it won't go away. I've had prescriptions ointments, I've used over the counter stuff - it is awful. So...NO...YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO INTO THE GREEN DISNEYLAND WATER...trust me on that one.
jungle rot huh? sounds like benny's recurring rash, poor guy fell in and couldn't ge back up and had to walk all the way to the diver's steps. I know the Dive Master for the parks, they use special stuff to protect themselves from the water, and actually don't get very wet when they go under with the suits they wear... i think that's what he said. That water is a menacing presanace, I actually feel it calling to me. Jump in GMC, Jump in! scariest thing of my life... i kinda wanted to, but i was afraid of getting caught on the not track that was don't have.
