On a different but related tack, I'm partial to "People who think they know everything are particularly annoying to those of us who actually do." :D:

I see disney "experts" in the parks. that are always telling people disney facts. and lots of them are wrong. sort of funny and sad at the sametime.WEDFan wrote:On a different but related tack, I'm partial to "People who think they know everything are particularly annoying to those of us who actually do." :D:
I get the occasional kid in junior sailing that thinks he knows everything. I'll tell them that must mean you can beat me in a race around the cans and I'm carrying at least twice the weight. We'll go out and I'll cover them with dirty air off the lee of the sail to kill their boat speed. If they were so smart they'd tack away into clean air but they never do.WEDFan wrote:On a different but related tack, I'm partial to "People who think they know everything are particularly annoying to those of us who actually do." :D:

I have a metal plaque with that inscription on it. In fact it's about 3 feet away right now. I used to be on my desk before I retired. They loved me for it. :twisted:WEDFan wrote:On a different but related tack, I'm partial to "People who think they know everything are particularly annoying to those of us who actually do." :D:
I really like that. Eventually I want one that says something to the effect, "If it's bad enough for you to complain to me, but it's not bad enough for you to help change it, then I don't need to hear it."hobie16 wrote:The sign on my desk read:

I think you basically have it there -- just make it a bit more pithy. The first clause isn't really necessary. How about "If it's not bad enough for you to help change it, it's not bad enough for me to care."?Big Wallaby wrote:I really like that. Still working on the wording to make it humorous.
