On a different but related tack, I'm partial to "People who think they know everything are particularly annoying to those of us who actually do." :D:

I see disney "experts" in the parks. that are always telling people disney facts. and lots of them are wrong. sort of funny and sad at the sametime.

I get the occasional kid in junior sailing that thinks he knows everything. I'll tell them that must mean you can beat me in a race around the cans and I'm carrying at least twice the weight. We'll go out and I'll cover them with dirty air off the lee of the sail to kill their boat speed. If they were so smart they'd tack away into clean air but they never do.

I have a metal plaque with that inscription on it. In fact it's about 3 feet away right now. I used to be on my desk before I retired. They loved me for it.

The sign on my desk read:

Complaints
But No Whining

I really like that. Eventually I want one that says something to the effect, "If it's bad enough for you to complain to me, but it's not bad enough for you to help change it, then I don't need to hear it."

Still working on the wording to make it humorous.

That attitude comes from the story of the salesman who went to visit a house out in the country. As he walked up, there was a hound dog sitting on the porch, howling in misery. The salesman knocked on the door, and the owner of the house answered.

"Yeah?" asked the owner.

"What's up with your dog?" asked the salesman.

"Oh," replied the owner, "I reckon he's sitting on a nail."

"Why doesn't he get up?" asked the salesman.

"Well," said the owner, "it hurts enough to complain, but not enough to do anything about it."

for the nautical set, I had this placard given to me for my desk:

Enlisted men are stupid, but extremely cunning and sly, and bear constant watching.

it was given to me by a senior enlisted man. I always displayed it when going over quarterly evaluations!

In the Army, the senior NCO's went with, "If they're not bitchin' they're plottin'."

I think you basically have it there -- just make it a bit more pithy. The first clause isn't really necessary. How about "If it's not bad enough for you to help change it, it's not bad enough for me to care."?
